Study On The Drop-out Problem Of Rural Junior Middle Students In Poor Areas Under The Background Of Urbanization

Since the promulgation of the compulsory Education law of the People's Republic of China has made great progress in the popularization of the 9-year compulsory education and there is a considerable increase in the school attendance rate.Recent years,under the background of urbanization,the government strengthens the investment in compulsory education.However,due to various reasons which rise from our society,the families and so on,there is a serious phenomenon of school-dropping among primary and secondary students in the countryside,especially in the rural areas.And the phenomenon of school-dropping has become more and more serious.It not only affects the development of education,but also affects the improvement of the quality of our people.So it needs to connect regional situations and peculiarity with studying school drop-out to solve the problem.At first,this thesis takes two junior middle schools in Y country of X city as samples.Through studying and investigating the problem of students dropping out of school under the background of urbanization in the rural area in Y country of X city.The results showed that the dropout rate of students in public schools was higher than that of private schools.The dropout rate of "slow class" is higher than that of "fast class",there is a peak dropout rate,The high number of students dropping out of school are the children who are left at home by their parents,the girls are easier to drop out school,the dropout rate of boarding students is higher,the drop-outs were concentrated in "slow class",and their academic achievement was lower than the average level,the high dropout rate of students lives further away from school and the public school recessive drop out phenomenon is more serious and so on.Secondly,based on the investigation of the present situation,the thesispoints at the problems and disadvantages caused by school-dropping of junior high school students.It is unfavorable to the development of students' body,mind and career,It is bad for the development of the family;It is not conducive to the consolidation of compulsory education,and it's the waste of educational resources,it is bad for the development of rural economy and it is not good for the stability of society and so on.And then,it further reveals the factors affecting the rate of dropout in rural middle school students under the background of urbanization,including social and family factors and so on.Finally,from the aspects of government,schools,families and so on,the thesis put out the suggestions and ways to control the problem of dropouts,including the improvement of teachers and education methods,the reduction of urban and rural education gap,improving the social and cultural environment around students,improving the family education environment in order to solve the problem of middle school dropouts effectively and so on.The society,the schools and the families should pull together to solve the problem of dropouts and curb the sources of dropouts.
