Online education which based on information and communication technology brings new opportunities for educational reform.The integration of ICT and traditional classroom teaching not only affects the teachers 'teaching concept and form,but also brings huge change to the students' learning attitudes and ways.Online education involves all stages of education,K-12 online education mainly refers to kindergarten to high school.Among the operation modes of K-12 online education,the United States has developed it quite well.The development of K-12 online education in the United States is inseparable from the support of policies,information technology and financial funding.In the course of its development,the federal,state governments,local school districts and corporations all play an important role.This article takes the K-12 online education modeL of operation in the United States as the research object.It uses literature,case study and SWOT analysis to answer these questions:1)What are the main participants of the K-12 online education operation mode in the United States;2)How to operate the K-12 online education in the United States;3)What are the experiences and lessons learned in educational operation mode?...In order to grasp the operating mode of K-12 online education in the United States better,this paper mainly introduces the operation mode of K-12 online education in the United States from the promulgation of relevant policies and laws,the input of fiscal funds and the composition of participants.And according to the different purpose of operation,the operation mode is divided into for-profit and non-profit operating modes,then in order to do further analysis,it expounds respectively with K12 Company and Florida Virtual School as examples.Through the study we found that the United States K-12 online education developed relatively well.The K-12 online education in the United States can be divided into a variety of models of operation according to the type of participants and learning styles.These different models provide a new learning environment for K-12 students,making learning anywhere,anytime.It really taught students in accordance with their aptitudes and make the students a classroom leader.The distinction between for-profit and non-profit operating models can satisfy the needs of different student groups while enriching the education market in the United States.In spite of this,there are still some problems in the K-12 online education operation model in the United States such as the poor quality of learning and the lack of integrity in performance test.Some of these problems require further guidance and supporting from policies and laws,while others can only be solved when technologies are more mature.
