At present,China is in a period of social transformation.It is a practical issue for educators to strengthen citizens' quality education and raise their awareness of responsibility.As representatives of high-quality citizens,college students are the hope of motherland and the successors of socialist construction.Therefore,the promotion of the quality of college students and the establishment of a sense of responsibility are of great significance for the improvement of society and the quality of citizens.The United States launched an education on civic responsibility for college students earlier and achieved certain results in the field of practice.This paper mainly focuses on studying the current situation and adoptability of the civic education of the United States.Through literature review and the method of investigation and analysis,the author combs and explores the current state of the civic responsibility education of the college students in the United States,and summarized the advantages and disadvantages of it.On this basis,the author also put forward countermeasures and suggestions for enhancing the effectiveness of the ideological and political education in China.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part explains and interprets the connotation and relationship of related concepts of civic responsibility education,and combs its historical evolution.In addition,this part also elaborates on the civic responsibility education and the theory involved in the study of this thesis,which constitutes the basic theoretical premise of this paper.The second part mainly introduces the design of survey concerning the status quo of the college students' civic responsibility education in the United States,covering the principle of investigation,the selection of samples as well as the design of questionnaire.The third part clarifies the realistic situation of U.S.college students' civic responsibility education according to the survey results,educators,educational contents,education methods and educational approaches.The fourth part refers to summarizing the experience and deficiencies of U.S.college students' civic responsibility education according to the realistic situation.In the last part,based on the advantages and disadvantages of college students' civic responsibility education in the U.S.,the author proposes some countermeasures for improving the effectiveness of ideological and political education in China.
