As a Western import— "Citizen education" has entered China for more than a hundred years.However,the development process has been ups and downs.How to make the idea of citizenship as a Western-imported product truly have local Chinese characteristics is still worth considering.In recent years,the proposal of “cultural self-confidence” has provided a new era background and cultural connotation for the localization of civic education of China.The purpose of carrying out civic education in China is to cultivate Chinese socialist citizens,thus we need to base on cultural self-confidence.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the path to promote the localization of civic education in China from the perspective of cultural self-confidence.This article aims to sort through the research results of civic education,civic education localization,and cultural self-confidence,to find a new entry point for the development of civic education localization on the basis of cultural self-confidence,establish a more complete construction system to promote the development of civic education localization.Firstly,this study analyzes the concept of main content and main characteristics of citizen,civic education,the basic connotation,basic features,and main principles of civic education localization.And combed the theoretical basis of civic education localization from the three aspects of theoretical origin,theoretical development and theoretical reference of civic education localization.Secondly,this study analyzes the current background of civic education localization,specify the cultural attributes of civic education,and the challenges of localized civic education based on the background of current cultural self-confidence.And the possibility of integration between cultural confidence and civic education localization.From the perspective of traditional culture,revolutionary culture,and advanced socialist culture,analyze how they promoted the localization of civic education.From the various perspective of cultural resources,choose the representative viewpoints and integrate the feasibility of civic education localization.Finally,this study proposes the basic system for the realization of civic education localization under the visual threshold of cultural confidence.Learn from the excellent western experience of civic education,improve education methods of civic education localization from the perspective of strengthening cultural exchanges,absorb traditional cultural resources,enrich the content of civic education localization from the perspective of cultural inheritance,and inject modern civic cultural elements into force.From the perspective of cultural development,innovate the concept of civic education localization;linked to the reality to purify the civic education localization environment from the point of view of settling the practice of culture.
