Research On The Application Of Community Work In The Employment Services For The Disabled

Employment is a basic right of citizens.However,employment is very difficult for the disabled,because the disabled are lack of self-confidence due to their physical or mental defects,social prejudice and discrimination.In this study,questionnaire and interviewing were used by assessing the employment problems and employment needs of the disabled in the D community.D community has such problems as low employment rate and low level of employment.This is caused by the lack of employment skill of the disabled,low cultural level of the disabled,the limited access to employment information and discrimination by the employers.Through requirement analysis,we find that the disabled have psychological need,vocational training,career presentation,non-profit undertaking and so on.Based on the actual needs of the disabled,through resource analysis,combined with needs and resources,we worked out a program of community service under the assistance of the community.Under the guidance of the strength perspective and the social network theory,through the use of community work methods,help the disabled to build self-confidence,improve employment ability,integrate resources relying on community positions,build a employment platform for the disabled.During the whole practice,community workers play the different roles,such as service planner,intermediaries,educator and champion,and use community analysis techniques,building techniques of community working relationships,planning technique of community organization in order to provide professional services for the disabled.This study believes that community work's intervention in employment services for the disabled can fully mobilize the advantages of recipients,widely link community resources,and promote employment of the disabled.Finally,it is believed that improving the employment service of the disabled in the community needs to improve the working mechanism of the community and play the leading role of the neighborhood committee.And we should increase the intensity of social work intervention and promote the specialization of the service.
