Application Of The Group Work Methhod In Employment Service Of The Disabled

Employment has become one of the most concerned issues for the disabled, who are considered as the weak group of the society. However, there are still many complicated problems remaining in the field of the disabled employment as following: ones caused by subjective reasons of the disabled, others caused by objective reasons, such as social policies, environment and so on.Merely relying on government-dominating mode of employment services has never fulfilled special employment requirements of such weak group. Involvement of social work into employment services can increase the specialization of service by applying professional work styles, reallocate the disabled society and its network resources, help the disabled actively solve problems existed in employment, and realize employment eventually.This article firstly analyses employment conditions, requirements and difficulties, etc. of X community of Baoding City, Hebei Province, where is taken as a research sample, by several research methods such as literature research method, action research method and investigation research method. Then this article attempts to introduce one of the social work methods, group working method, into the employment services of the disabled, guided by empowerment theory and dominating visual angle theory. Considering the following aspects, negative feeling of part of the disabled due to his physiological defects, lack of effective employment and communication skills, incomprehension of employment polices, the author designed to carry out group activities to make them a supportive Community, to enhance members' confidences. Fully mobilizing the employment initiative of the disabled, resolve existing problems in employment and achieve employment eventually. Last, this article is supposed to promote social work development of localization for the disabled by way of summary and reflection.
