With the development of the Chinese language teaching reform,the importance of the composition teaching is becoming more and more prominent.The proportion of the test composition in the high school entrance examination and the college entrance examination is increasing.And it is even said that if one does good in the test composition,he will easily get the high score.But in the practical teaching,teachers are confronted with the fact that the higher the students' grades are,the more afraid of the composition they will be.Writing with pictures is the starting point of the composition teaching.It will help the students to have a command of the composition writing when the teacher diagnose the students' difficulties in the writing process and give appropriate guidance.The image thinking of the preschool age children and the early-school age students is much better than their abstract logic thinking,so that the visual stimulation from the pictures is much higher than that of words to the students.Therefore,it is vital to have the teaching of writing with pictures for the lower grade pupils,and give appropriate guidance,which will help the pupils learn to write and lay a solid foundation for their future composition writing.The crux of the matter of the writing with pictures is that the students do not know how to start the writing and seem to have nothing to express;theycannot observe properly and express logically;they are lack of the vivid language use and short of imagination.The causes may lie in the reality that the state curriculum standard does not specify the specific aimsfor the teaching of writing with pictures and thewriting-with-picture parts in the textbook do not form a scientific series.Those two causes answer forthe consequences that the teachers have no specific aims in the teaching which leads to their ignorance of the importance of the writing-with-picture teaching,and then the practices of the writing are not in the scientific series,not to mention the correction of the writing.The central section of the writing is language and thinking,that is,to express ideas through the language.Before the students can use the specification language,the first thing in the teaching is to train their thinking.So in the paper the strategies for the writing with pictures in the lower grades are concluded as follows:firstly,the teacher should make clear the teaching objectives,select the appropriate pictures and try multiple pictures,and expandto the teaching of more styles;then the teacher can arouse the students' interest in the writing with pictures by means of selecting pictures based on the principles of more attention to life,interest,openness.And at the same time,the teacher ought to guide the students to orderly observation,reasonable detailed writing and rational imagination,which help the students improve their writing competence;finally,the teacher can improve the writing practice following the sequences from speaking to writing and from sentence making to paragraph writing,which will make the students willing to express their own thoughts.
