As an emerging way of education,International Education has received more and more attention from people in recent years.Particularly,with the increasing trend of “studying abroad”,a lot of parents and students have shown great enthusiasm for International Education,among which the IB curriculum,known as the “International Education Leader”,is the most concerned.It was my privilege to contact with a group of Chinese students who had transferred from the public school system to the IBDP programme,but was surprised to find that three years of different education created a new group of people.This caused my curiosity and what exactly has this group experienced in the past three years? How do they become new people? This paper uses a case study method and takes the growth of IBDP students as the research topic.Through case interviews and participatory observations,two typical cases were selected to explore their growth process,content and the growth ways and related factors that affect their growth.The paper is mainly divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which are the origin of the study,the research process and methods,the significance of research,the definition of some key concepts and the related literature review respectively.The second and third chapters are the presentation and analysis of the cases of Xiaoxin and Xiaoao.In these two chapters,the stages of the two principals' growth as well as key topics and crises at each stage are summarized.At the same time,the content,the growth ways,and the influencing factors of growth are discussed.In the fourth chapter,based on the above two cases,coupled with other interviewed data,the stage,content,ways and influencing factors of China's IBDP community growth are generalized from macro perspective.And the last chapter is a reflection of the research findings and suggestions.Through this study,it finds that the general direction of the growth of IBDP community is an independent inquirer,which has undergone three stages: adaptation,exploration and maturity period;the content of growth is capacity-based with self-directed learning to learn,to live,and to communicate;the growth approach is active learning with independent development;and the four major factors of growth: education orientation,self-characters,collective influence,and environment support.According to the conclusions,some relevant suggestions for China's IBDP education and its senior high school education reform are put forward.
