Application Of Social Work In Improving The Informal Support Of Cancer Patients

With the development and progress of science and technology,great changes have taken place in people's living standards and lifestyles,and the number of cancer patients has increased.The group of cancer patients has entered the field of vision.They not only have to bear the pain of suffering,but also have to bear high-intensity economic and psychological pressures,and need urgent attention and support from the society.Most cancer patients are autistic,lonely and unwilling to communicate with others.The informal social support they receive,especially the social support level of the peer group is very low,and the degree of use of support is not enough,resulting in a decline in their quality of life.Therefore,it is urgent to improve the informal support for cancer patients.The concept of social work helping people to help themselves becomes the best choice for improving the informal support of cancer patients.This study selected the method of group work and case work,and explored the application of these two methods in improving the informal social support for cancer patients.In this paper,20 cancer patients from Guizhou Provincial Tumor Hospital conducted in-depth interviews,social support measurement scales,and focus methods to conduct in-depth analysis.Eight member teams were selected as research subjects and nine group activities were conducted.The in-depth approach enhances the level of informal support for cancer patients and improves their lives.This article also carried out deeper case work and helped clients improve their informal social support through six interviews.Finally,through the evaluation and summary,the author finds that social work can help improve the informal social support of cancer patients,and to a certain extent indirectly improve the quality of life of cancer patients has a certain role.This study has certain deficiencies and hopes to discuss it with readers.
