The burgeoning increase of online education platforms bring out unprecedented challenges and opportunities in the education field.This forces the traditional school education to adjust itself and provide an individualized learning chance for each student in order to keep pace with the huge changes in education ecology.Based on the analysis for the individualized learning case in the Khan Academy in Idaho in the United States,this thesis explores how to implement deep integration between the traditional school education and modern online education platform and discusses the true education value in the meanwhile.The data used in this thesis are collected from the published and unpublished annual assessment reports,wherein,the internal data in the unpublished ones are authorized by the relevant authors or instituted.By employing the comparative study method,firstly,some details of the Idaho Khan Academy project including its preliminary preparation,personnel composition,and implementation effects are introduced.Secondly,aiming at exploring the educational value of the project,three aspects are analyzed,namely,they are the essential characteristics of personalized learning,the design of personalized learning,and the evaluation methods that are consistent with personalized learning,respectively.Finally,this thesis summarizes the experience and enlightenment from the Khan Academy project in Idaho,which will benefit the future development of our primary and secondary education.It is worth noting that the success of Idaho Khan Academy project is benefited from the Khan Academy's ongoing exploration and technical support for personalized learning.Meanwhile,the social recognition for the personalized learning in the United States creates a good environment for the development of this project.Thus,in our primary and secondary education,more attention should be given with consideration of the actual needs of front-line teachers and students in the process of developing personalized learning.Moreover,multi-way and in-depth cooperation is necessary to construct a corresponding support system for the personalized learning.
