The Study On Assessment Of The Livability Of Xi'an City

Livable city is the development goal and direction of urban.With the acceleration of the urbanization,the expansion of cities,the urban population has risen dramatically.At the same time,the ecological damage,environmental pollution,traffic congestion and other urban problems are emerging.It affects residents' quality of life.Therefore,city livability has become the main concern of urban residents.It is also a research hotspot.Early scholars pay more attention to the natural environment and infrastructure construction.With the rise of humanism ideological trend,social and cultural environment brought to the attention of scholars.The convenience and comfort of life has been the subject of attention.Since the new century,fair and become the focus of attention.Xi'an is a national historical and cultural city,and an important central city in the western region.The general plan of xi'an(2004-2020)proposed the goal to construct ecological livable city.In recent years,xi'an has improved significantly in historical and cultural protection,construction of public service facilities and urban transportation.However,xi'an still has problems such as haze pollution,noise pollution and traffic congestion,which affects the city livability.Based on the current situation of the development of xi'an city,refer to the index system of scholars,this paper builds subjective evaluation and objective index system about urban Livability.Using SPSS software to make principal component analysis,this paper compares the statistical data on time and space.On the other hand,through the partition questionnaires,the research gets 820 effective samples and calculates the evaluation score of Xi'an city,six districts and Changan area.Based on location information of residents,using ArcGIS spatial difference method,this paper analyses the spatial differentiation characteristics of livability about Xi'an city.And using Mann-Whitney U test and Spearman rank correlation test,this paper analyses the correlation betweenresidents' attributes and evaluation score of livability.The research shows:(1)Based on principal component analysis,this paper analyzes the nearly seven years from 2009 to 2015 of livability of xi'an city.Xi'an has achieved great achievement in the public service facilities,agreeableness of natural environment and traffic.But still need to further enhance the security,inclusive,and environmental health of the city.(2)Residents' satisfaction score is 64.94 of livability of Xi'an city.From the Angle of residents' feeling,the level of livable city needs to be promoted.According to the questionnaire of data,secondary index evaluation appear bigger difference.Residents are not satisfied with the smog pollution,noise pollution,convenience of parking.Residents are satisfied with protection of historical context,social security and shopping facilities.(3)Using ArcGIS spatial analysis method,the scores of overall evaluation are represented visually.Results showes that there are difference in livability among different areas,but no significant structural characteristics.All districts have low score area and high score area.The old downtown,the southeast Qujiang New District,the southwest High-tech zone,the north Economic and Technological Development Zone have high evaluation on the whole.These areas present low score relatively,such as the northern Xu Jiawan,the western Tumen and Han Changan Great site protection area,the eastern Happiness road and textile area,the Electronic District and Chang Yanbao street.(4)The main urban areas present livability differences.The Xincheng district has convenient traffic,the adequate public service facilities,but remains to strengthen the security work further.The Weiyang district has convenient traffic,the pleasant natural environment,but remains to perfect the public service facilities.The Yanta district has rich culture details,the adequate public service facilities,but score of environmental health is low.The Beilin district with cultural heritage sites assembled,good social cultural environment,need to ascend the agreeableness of natural environment.TheLianhu district with convenient traffic,remains to elevate the agreeableness of the natural environment.The Changan district with complete education facilities and the pleasant natural environment,but need to perfect the infrastructure further.The Baqiao district has low score overall,The pollution of the environment problem is more prominent especially.(5)Through correlation analysis of different properties of residents and livable score,found that living time has larger influence on livability evaluation.Different residents with different characteristics have no significant differences of overall evaluation of livability.In contrast,the male,the married,the young people,the high income,the highly educated,the local residents,residents with living time from 1 to 20 years,have higher satisfaction of the current livable status of xi'an.
