A Narrative Research Of Children's Physical Discipline During The Afternoon Napping Field In The Kindergarten

Based on the perspective of sociology about the body,the research aims to observe the physical condition of children during the siesta,analyze the body shapes of children in the napping field,and at the same time pay attention to the physical feelings and experiences of children during the nap activities to arouse people's re-examination and reflection on children's bodies by in-depth investigation of the kindergarten siesta activity scene.This study adopts the method of "purposeful sampling",choose a city kindergarten(QF kindergarten)and a rural kindergarten(TTX kindergarten)as the research object of Guilin,Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.The researcher collected the materials from two kindergartens by conducting a long-term continuous period of observation and investigation that the small classes conducted one-month observation,middle and large classes respectively for half a month by means of taking photos,recording and other auxiliary forms,and finally collected 189 relevant cases.Taking the humanistic perspective and combining the narrative method,the study tries to restore the siesta scene through the narration of objective facts on the base of deep and elaborate observation of the behavior and interaction of teachers and students in the napping field.In addition,we conducted in-depth interviews with the principals,teachers,children and parents of two kindergartens to understand the reasons behind the behaviors of children's body and their plight in the kindergarten,so that we can provide as abundant first-hand information as possible to look for a way out for the children.Through observation and research,it is found that children gradually formed three types of body shape during the collective nap activity in kindergarten :(1)the body shapes during the nap time;(2)the body shapes in the nap space.(3)the body shapes during the nap space-time.Accordingly,the plight of the children's body suffered in the kindergarten nap field can be listed as follows:(1)the predicament of the body in the nap time whose main performance includes no gap between children's bodies before the nap activity;the bodies of children's pretending to sleep during the nap time;slack bodies after the nap time;the bodies while waiting during the transition link and so on.(2)the predicament of the physical bodies in the nap space are mainly manifested in 1)physical dilemma under space positioning: including enclosed space,hierarchical space,crowded space,indifferent space and changeable space;2)the body's dilemma before and after the sleeping desks,which is mainly reflected in the obedient bodies,illegal bodies and helpless bodies.(3)the physical dilemma under nap space-time,which is mainly manifested in the troubled body,the educated body and the cultivated body.Based on the physical situation and the experience of children's forming the three kinds of physical behaviors,the author believes that the physical outlet of children in the napping field is:(1)the change of the nursing mode of children's autonomous sleep;(2)re-examination of children's body positioning;(3)pay more attention to the formulation and implementation of rules for children's needs.
