With the development of artificial intelligence technology,robotics and artificial intelligence become the new trend of future technology.In this tide of artificial intelligence,the Ministry of Education released multiple documents in 2017 to promote the development of artificial intelligence courses in education in China.At the same time,with the rising and development of STEAM education in overseas,STEAM education focuses on the cultivation of inter-disciplinary talent.The knowledge structure emphasizes the integration of disciplines and the ability to cultivate students' innovative spirit and practical ability.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to apply STEAM education concept to the teaching design of artificial intelligence courses in Chinese middle schools.This paper mainly adopts literature method,action research method,investigation method,case analysis method and so on.Based on this,this study fully learned STEAM education concept through literature review,and analyzed foreign STEAM teaching cases.According to the characteristics of STEAM,a teaching design model based on STEAM was built on the basis of the classical teaching design model LID.Then according to the teaching design to carry out the artificial intelligence curriculum teaching practice.Finally,it is proved that it is possible through questionnaire analysis.This study mainly consists of five parts:(1)This study firstly introduced the development of education of artificial intelligence and the conception of artificial intelligence.Cleared the research problem,the research direction was established.At the same time,the research content was drawn up and the design process was determined.(2)Searching relevant literatures,analyzing concepts and studying theories using literature method,and reviewing the STEAM education concept in China in recent years.(3)The author analyzed the foreign STEAM case and set the design principles of the artificial intelligence course teaching design pattern,built the teaching design framework based on the STEAM education theory,.(4)According to this framework,the teaching design was carried out.(5)Finally,the teaching effect was tested in teaching practice and guided by the interview results.The conclusion of this study is: based on the artificial intelligence course teaching design to build model of STEAM,due to guide the teaching of middle school of artificial intelligence course design,can improve students interested in artificial intelligence course subject,independent learning and innovative thinking,programming thinking.In the course of study,students not only gain knowledge and skills,but also develop interest in this subject.This has prepared students for further study of the relevant courses of artificial intelligence,both in terms of knowledge and interest.
