As a core theory of social work and sociology, the social support network has always been a popular topic of researches. The theory of social support networks regards the material or spiritual help that people receive from others as support, and the complex network of such support constitutes a social support network.People's support in all aspects can be obtained from this network, and different types of networks provide different types of support.Scholars at home and abroad have distinguished the categories of social support networks, analyzed specific factors that affect social support networks, and made practical explanations of the detailed functions of social support networks.Social exclusion, another key area of social work, has always been a research hotspot. Many scholars have noticed the relationship between social exclusion and social support, and compared the differences between urban and rural social support networks and the social support networks owned by individuals with different economic status. They found that their network size and strength are different. What is the mechanism of the impact of income level and urban-rural differences on social support networks? Examining the existing research literature,we found that community participation as a vehicle for the neighbors to participate in and communicate with friends,it became the main source of formal and informal social networks, and societies can provide people with a variety of support. Is community participation as an intermediate variable between income and urban-rural differences in the role of social support networks? If the control of the community is involved, will the income and urban-rural influence on social support networks be reduced?According to the data of China's Comprehensive Social Survey(CGSS2012),a logistic regression model is set up.The income level and the difference between urban and rural areas are set as independent variables.Community participation is set as a mediator variable, and social support from neighbors and friends is set as dependent variable.Through the empirical analysis of the statistical data, the following conclusions are drawn.(1)The level of incomes will positively affect the overall social support and psychological and health support from the neighbors and friends.Community participation is the intermediary variable of income level and social support.(2)Compared with rural residents, urban residents are more willing to ask their neighbors and friends for help when they encounter psychological problems.Community participation is the intermediary variable of urban and rural differences and psychological support. When social workers are interposing the personal social support network, different methods of intervention can be adopted according to different cases. In rural areas,on the one hand,we can make good use of the policies of the state to support the rural development, and protect the external environment for the construction of communities. On the other hand,we can make use of the enthusiasm of rural residents for religious clans, and encourage the residents who need it to participate in such associations. For low-income people, they can gather in public rental housing or urban villages, and dig out local elites and leaders,so that they can lead local residents to participate in clubs.
