The French middle school students are the research objects of this paper.Phonetic experimental experiments is used to investigate tones acquisition of french middle school students.This paper mainly investigate monosyllabic tones,disyllabic tones and disyllabic tones when they are in simple sentences.Compared with mandarin,this paper analyzes the characteristics of foundamental frequency,type,pitch and duration of tones of french students' tones.Besides,this paper sums up tone types and tone characteristics,finding the most commonly used tone combination of french students.The study found that the main problems of monosyllabic tones are as follows: The pitch of first tone is lower than mandarin.The second tone's rise is not enough and the turning point is in the second half of the curve.The third tone's prononciation is relatively good than the others.The fourth tone's problem is the decline of the curve is not enough.The first tone and the third tone's prononciation result is better than the second tone and the fourth tone.The error rate of monosyllabic tone is relatively better than the disyllabic tone.The phonetic experiment result shows that the problems of disyllabic tone are as follows: The second tone is similar to the first tone.Students can't acquire third tone sandhi when the third tone appears before another one.The fourth tone's problem is the same as the monosyllabic first tone.It is found that the most commonly used tone pattern of french students is T1+T2,the frequency of which is far beyond the other patterns.The analysis of simple sentences shows results essentially in agreement with disyllabic tones.T1+T2 is still the most commonly used tone pattern.Finally,combine the problems occur in the analysis with questionnaire survey results,some key teaching methods are put forward.For example,teachers should find more ways to expand students' pitch range and pay more attention to third tone sandhi.Teachers should also allocate the time properly to different tone combinations.
