The poor working environment,long working time,complexed organizational relationship......these problems has broutht economic losses and high turnover rate at the same time,also brought great damage to the employees’ physical and mental health,and even lead to employees’ professional skills,job position and development space being negative degradation,namely career interruption.Based on the perspective of occupation safety and health,this study made deep analysis on employees’ career interruption caused by workplace damage factors,defining career interruption concept connotation and structure,making further analysis of the influence of the internal relationship between the factors and the career interruption.This study provide reference for organizations and employees,also for relevant studies on career interruption.Based on the literature research and qualitative analysis results,this study constructed the concept model of career interruption influencing factors,developed career interruption scale,career interruption influencing factors scale and workplace damage conception scale,and formed a formal questionnaire,582 valid questionnaires were collected,research samples are industry employees from different age,education the level etc.The survey data were analyzed using SPSS 17 and AMOS software,mainly including the scale reliability and validity test,exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor;Independent sample T test and single factor analysis method were used to analyze the difference of career interruption,career interruption influencing factors and workplace damage perception in demographic variables and organizational work variables;at last,correlation and regression analysis were made between three scales to explore the influence of workplace damage perception on career interruption influencing factors and career interruption,the research conclusions are as follows:(1)The results of confirmatory factor analysis show that career interruption is composed of three dimensions: occupational ability loss,industry/position change and limited development.The interpretation variance of career interruption was the largest in limited development,followed by industry/position change,occupational ability loss has the smallest variance in career interruption.The career interruption influencing factors are composed of six dimensions: job characteristics,job autonomy,management execution,task skills,organization fit and competitiveness,and relationship fit.Among them,organizational fit and competitiveness had the largest variance in career interruption influencing factors,followed by management execution,and relationship fit had the smallest variance in career interruption influencing factors.The workplace damage perception is composed of three dimensions: physical damage,work pressure,and occupational psychological damage.The explanation of work pressure is the largest in the interpretation of workplace damage perception,the secondary is occupational psychological poverty,and the least variance in the workplace damage perception is physical damage.(2)Descriptive statistical analysis found that occupational ability loss is the largest in all dimensions of career interruption,followed by industry/position change,limited development is the lowest in all dimensions of career interruption.The mean of task skill was the highest among career interruption influencing factors,followed by relationship fit,and the mean of job autonomy was the lowest.The mean of occupational psychological poverty was the highest in all dimensions of workplace damage perception,followed by physical damage,and the mean of work pressure is the smallest.(3)The result of difference analysis shows that there are significant differences between the overall career interruption,the loss of professional ability,the transformation of industry posts and the loss of development space on the variables of demographic and organizational work(except for special variables).Among them,the only child,the current law major related work,the real estate enterprise and the Sino foreign joint venture are higher than the other types of employees in the career interruption and their dimensions,indicating that the degree of damage is higher.There are significant differences between the factors of career interruption,job characteristics,work autonomy,management implementation,task skills,organization matching and competitiveness,and relationship matching in demographic variables and organizational variables.Among them,the employees with 3 or more children and the joint ventures in China and foreign countries have higher mean in each dimension,indicating that they are more sensitive to all kinds of damage factors in the workplace and have a higher degree of damage.There are significant differences in demographic variables and organizational work variables(except for special variables),which are perceived as a whole,physical damage,work stress and occupational mental poverty.Among them,the employees of unmarried,only child,unbred,real estate,wholesale and retail and joint ventures in China and foreign countries have higher average value in each dimension,which indicates that their perceived damage is higher.(4)The result of correlation analysis shows that workplace damage perception can significantly predict career interruption.The employees’ physical damage and work stress have the greatest impact on the prediction of limited development,and occupational phychological poverty can significantly predict the occupational ability loss.All dimensions of influencing factors can significantly predict workplace damage perception,job characteristics and job autonomy can significantly predict physical damage;management execution,organization fit and competitiveness can significantly predict work pressure;task skills and relationship fit can significantly predict occupational psychological poverty.All dimensions of influencing factors can significantly predict career interruption,job characteristics,job autonomy,management execution,organization fit and competitiveness,and relationship fit can significantly predict the limited development;task skills can significantly predict occupational ability loss.The dimensions of influencing factors have a direct effect on career interruption,and workplace damage perception plays a partial mediating role between career interruption influencing factors and career interruption.
