Recently,China and Zimbabwe have had very close relationships.These two countries have for a long time maintained remarkable bilateral and diplomatic relationships.However the major drawback to the interaction of these two countries lies in the differences in languages.As a result,the demand to studying Chinese by Zimbabweans has increased dramatically.In 2007,the University of Zimbabwe,through the Confucius institute opened the first ever center for Chinese studies in Zimbabwe and the region at large.In 2008 the University of Zimbabwe Confucius Institute gave birth to Roosevelt Girls High School.Its 8 years now since the Roosevelt Girls High School started Chinese language classes,moreover already there are many great achievements.However there is also a considerable number of Challenges that need to be addressed so as to achieve objectives.In order to understand areas that require immediate attention for improvement,there is greater need to first analyze the whole situation about the Study of Chinese language at Roosevelt Girls High School.This research analyzes the Roosevelt Girls High School whole circumstances surrounding the study of Chinese Language.Firstly,the search will dwell on the history and status quo of the Study of Chinese at Roosevelt Girls High School.In this regard emphasis will be laid on the Chinese teachers,and then Chinese students,the equipment available as well as teaching and learning environment.Secondly this research will analyze the challenges and problems surrounding the study of Chinese a Roosevelt Girls High School.This section also touches on the Chinese teachers,Chinese students,equipment,teaching materials as well as learning and teaching environment.After that a highlight of possible solutions will be given based on research findings.Finally,the writer will give a detailed account of her wishes and hopes for the future the study of Chinese at Roosevelt Girls High School.This research comprises of four main parts which are: 1.Introduction,2.History and Status Quo of the Study of Chinese at Roosevelt Girls High School,3 Challenges surrounding the study of Chinese at Roosevelt Girls High School as well as solutions to the problems 4.Personal wishes and conclusion.This document is based on the personal experiences of the writer as a former Roosevelt Girls High School student.It will also be anchored on the information obtained from both the teachers and the students.
