Case Work Intervention In The Construction Of Social Support System For Elderly Living Alone

Nowadays,with the rapid development of economy,the speed of social transformation and the aging population of our country are also developing rapidly,and the transformation of population structure has caused great changes in family structure.Family size tends to be miniaturized,and the number of empty nests and elderly people living alone are increasing.There are many reasons such as long-term living alone,the growth of the age,the decline of bodily functions,the shrinking of the social circle,and the weakening of self-help and mutual help which causes mental,physical and economic problems to the elderly living alone.These problems have raised a high level requirements for the construction of the social support system for the elderly living alone.Approving these problems which includes setting and perfecting social support systems to old people who live alone,and promoting the ability of operating the system of old people who live alone can not only benefit the solitary old man individuals and families,but to reflect the development of the whole social civilization degree.Therefore,the problem of constracting social support system for the elderly living alone is not only a personal and family problem,but also a problem for social workers.In this paper,the service object was studied by visiting the elderly living alone in XHY community.Under the guidance of professional social work theory,with the purpose of helping others to help themselves,from the perspective of professional social work,combined with the actual needs of the service object,adopts the method of case work intervention to the problem of old people who live alone.The author hopes to enhance the self-confidence and the sense of belonging of the elderly living alone through the method of individual intervention,from relatives and neighbors,the social support system for the elderly living alone is constructed in three aspects of the community,and the ability of using the social support system for the elderly living alone is enhanced.This paper is an exploratory study of the case work involved in the elderly living alone.The conclusion is not universal,but it is hope to provide a little reference for the elderly living alone.
