Under the influence of the new curriculum reform and the concept of quality education,in order to improve the student's comprehensive quality in middle school education,we should pay attention to cultivating student's scientific literacy.Scientific literacy can't be achieved by simply informed,so in the process of teaching,we should take some measures conform to student's requirements,in order to achieve the teaching goals.The history of biological science includes the diversity and originality of scientific thinking and methods,which can embody scientific attitude and scientific spirit.This paper be based on the summary of the history of science and the cultivation of scientific literacy and research on training student's scientific literacy at home and abroad,and select the Inner Mongolia East Uzhumuqin Mongolian middle school and Xilinhaote Mongolian middle school students as the research object,and at the same time,the related knowledge of history of biological science and the basic cultivation of scientific literacy of Mongolian middle school students were investigated.The result shows that the current middle school students in this area have relatively poor knowledge of the biological science history,and the basic literacy of biological science is not rich on the whole.The author thinks that the content of the history of science should be properly used in the actual teaching process.Thus,students are able to realize the research process,research method,scientific spirit and the nature of science,meanwhile,to improve the scientific literacy.Therefore,it is necessary to focus on teaching the history of biological science in middle school.Based on the investigation results,this paper explores the strategies and principles of using the history of biological science to cultivate middle school student's scientific literacy.There are six strategies: Arousing student's interest in learning?cultivating student's innovative consciousness?cultivating student's spirit of questioning and cooperation?carrying out scientific attitude and values and patriotism education?making students understand the scientific process and nature of science?carrying on the education of scientific thinking and scientific method.Using the history of biological science to cultivate middle school student's scientific literacy should follow the three principles: Meet the requirements of teaching objectives when selecting the materials of history of science;The evaluation of the history of science should be objective and respect the facts of history of biological science;We should pay attention to pertinence,timeliness and artistry in the process of using.
