There is an old Chinese saying,"Few couples come together." and every young couple hopes to reach old age together with their partners since they got married.However,it is difficult to predict the occurrence of accidents,such as car accidents,disease etc,which threaten the safety of human live,and many people lose their lives.The occurrence of accidents not only takes people's lives,but also brings heavy blow to the whole family,and some families have to face the reality of loss,including middle-aged widows.The author found that most of the researches mainly concentrate on group of elderly widows,while there are few studies focus on urban middle-aged widows,for whom with low incomes are also very rare,especially their lives after the death of their spouses.The author hopes that this paper can supply the shortage in this field so that this group of women can be focused by more scholars,and help them to rebuild their self-confidence and better adapt to the life after losing of their spouses.This thesis contains five parts includ ing introduction,three main chapters and conclusion.In the first chapter,the author simply introduced the current situation of community A of Ji ning District in Wu Lanchabu city in Inner Mongolia,and then used non-structured interview method to collect the information of 6 middle-aged widows in this community includ ing basic situation analys is,method of narrative and analyse.The author instructed the six midd le-aged widows to use their own values and words about their emotional journey through the way of narrative analyse.In this way,we can help these group of people express their emotions and make some new plans for the future.In this way,the author can find out the adaptive problems from different perspectives during the process of the adaption after their spouses' death.In the second chapter,with the help of these adaptive problems,the author found the reasons behind the findings in chapter 1 namely individual factors,family factors,and social factors.For individual aspect,it inc ludes individual characteristics,level of education and individual factors if have been through spouses' death,For family aspect,if they have normal communication with their children and if they have tight relationship with their mothers-in low,in addition,and the lose of financ ial dependence is also an important family factor.For society,the backward thinking of people,lack of attention from administration and communities are also important factors.In the third chapter,after analyzing the factors behind this phenomenon,the author put forward some suggestions to conduct social work.In individual aspect,use case work methods to adjust the psychology of clients,help ing them get rid of the shadows as soon as possible.In family aspect,use the family social work method to adjust the relationship between parents of children.For social aspect,put forward some countermeasures with the help of community working methods.In the fourth chapter,the author made a summary of the who le thes is and put forward some suggestions and prospects according to the conclusion of this study.
