The research shows that mathematical calculation skills are one of the most important skills for students to learn mathematics.With the deepening of the new curriculum reform,people pay more attention to the development of mathematical calculation skills of students.However,there are few studies on mathematical calculation skills,especially for junior high school students in Guangxi.This study is based on the theoretical thinking and practical demands,combined with the actual situation of students in junior middle school in Guangxi,through questionnaires and interviews,from gender,grade,school,family and other aspects,try tounderstand the basic situation of mathematical calculation skills level of middle school students in Guangxi,and analysis of its influencing factors.Through the questionnaire survey and case interview,the basic situations of the calculation skill level of junior high school students in Guangxi are as follows:On the grade side,there is a significant difference between the grade eight and grade nine students;students with grade ascending,mathematical calculation skills gradually increase.As far as gender is concerned,there is no significant difference in the level of mathematical calculation skills between male and female students,but the overall level is not ideal and it is at a moderate level.As far as the school is concerned,there are significant differences in the level of mathematical calculation skills of students in different types of school in grade eight.There are significant differences between key middle school and general middle school,and the level of students in key middle schools are more higher.There are significant differences between key middle schools and rural middle school students in the number of correct questions,and the level of key middle schools are more higher.As far as ethnic groups are concerned,there are significant differences between Zhuang nationality and the Han nationality students in mathematical calculation skills,and the Han students have a higher level.Through theoretical analysis and experience summary,there are several reasons for the difference in the level of mathematical calculation skills of junior high school students in Guangxi.(1)Students are not interested in mathematical calculation skills.(2)Most students do not have good mathematical calculation habits and writing habits,and they are more dependent on the calculator.(3)The students do not pay enough attention to the calculation and lack calculation training.(4)The knowledge of mathematical calculation is insuffient.In the view of above problems,I have some improvement suggestions:(1)Cultivate students’ interest in learning mathematics.(2)Develop good mathematical calculation habits.(3)Pay mote attention to the basic knowledge teaching ad help students to master basic mathematical calculation methods.(4)Strengthen calculation training and promote students mathematical calculation skills.(5)Improve the teaching mathod of mathematics and help student to have the ability to calculation not just master the skills.
