Study On The Measurement And Cultivation Of Urban Residents' Social Mentality

The Chinese people's social mentality has undergone tremendous changes along with the advancement of economic reforms.The state attaches great importance to this,especially emphasizing the cultivation of social self-esteem and self-confidence,rational peace,and positive social attitudes.Therefore,the in-depth research on various aspects of the social mentality is extremely urgent.This study is divided into four main sections.First,the structural analysis of the social mentality.This article believes that the main components of social mentality include life satisfaction,social justice,self-efficacy,social emotions and social identity.Among them,life satisfaction is the basis and prerequisite for the emergence of a social mentality.It directly affects people's sense of social fairness,social identity,social emotion,and self-efficacy.And the satisfaction of people's lives is predicated on whether their material needs and spiritual needs are met.At the same time,social justice and social identity will directly affect social emotions and self-efficacy.Social emotions and self-efficacy will also influence each other.Second,the preparation of the Social Mentality Assessment Scale.According to the structure of social mentality constructed in this paper,after determining the corresponding initial problems,500 urban residents were tested.The KMO value of exploratory factor analysis was 0.893.The factor structure was consistent with the prediction structure.The confirmatory factor analysis results show that the model fits well.The scores of the social attitude measurement scale included five subscales: social fairness,life satisfaction,self-efficacy,social sentiment,and social identity,for a total of 32 topics.Third,the status and analysis of urban residents' social mentality.The overall state of social psychology and its five elements are all at a medium level.The overall situation is positive and the scores for life satisfaction and social recognition are slightly lower.There is no obvious gender difference in social mentality.Male and female sex is basically the same in all dimensions.The 70s' social mentality was significantly better than after 80 s,and the average social feelings “after 80” was significantly lower than the “after 60s”,“after 70s”,and “after 90”.And the " after 80 s " and " after 90 s " social identity were significantly lower than those after "after 60s" and "after 70s".Different levels of education did not have a significant effect on the social mentality.The social emotions of postgraduates were significantly better than those of other educational backgrounds,but their social identity was significantly lower than that of other educational backgrounds.The level of income,political status,whether or not only students,and the place of residence have no significant effect on the social mentality.However,the self-efficacy of Guangzhou residents living in other provinces was significantly lower than that of Guangdong and Guangzhou residents.The overall social mentality of different occupational groups was not significantly different,but the social fairness of teachers,civil servants,scientific and technical personnel,and workers was significantly higher than that of migrant workers,drivers,service industry personnel,and other groups.Fourth,the cultivation of social mentality.It mainly includes strengthening the satisfaction of the public's needs,promoting the promotion of social fairness,accelerating the development of psychological services,strengthening the active publicity of public opinion,and promoting the promotion of social identity.
