In recent years, mobile payment and blockchain technology have flourished, and the currency has gradually virtualized and digitized from the previous physical currency, becoming highly circulated financial data.It is becoming easier for ordinary people to participate in virtual currency investment. This paper tries to make up for the gaps in the research. The questionnaire survey method is used to describe and analyze the behavior of college students' virtual currency investment in a relatively comprehensive way,and attempts are made to attribute these behaviors to a certain degree with the related theory of personality traits. The research object of this article is the college students who are engaged in virtual currency investment or stock market investment and the middle-aged and elderly working or retirees who invest in virtual currency or stock market. From the three aspects of financial background knowledge, virtual currency or stock market investment behavior and personality traits, the respondents were thoroughly investigated.Among them, the virtual currency or stock market investment behavior is further divided into four dimensions: transaction time, capital and return, investment knowledge and motivation, and investment decision habits. The personality traits of respondents were measured using the Chinese version of the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ).Through grouping comparison with the undergraduates who are engaged in or engaged in virtual currency investments or stock market investment, the following conclusions are drawn: Eysenck personality is between investors engaged in virtual currency investment and those who are not engaged in virtual currency investment. There are certain differences in the three measurement dimensions of traits: the average of psychoticism, introversion, and neuroticism are all relatively high.Among them, the difference between inward and outward tendencies is highly significant.Compared with traditional stock investors, virtual currency investors have poor regular saving habits, and college-student virtual currency investors are relatively poor;college students are more likely to conduct frequent transactions when engaged in virtual currency transactions;the virtual currency investment of working or retirees is significantly profitable than students;students have virtual blindness and impulsivity in virtual currency investment;college students have obvious communicative virtual currency investment;traditional investors focus more on investment interests, and college students virtual currency investors show a certain degree of quick success. For these issues,we state separate suggestions from individuals, schools, and related departments. It is recommended that college students accumulate funds and cultivate good financial management habits;choose investment goals with caution;and enhance relevant knowledge learning.Universities could establish a simulate virtual currency investment platform to increase students' interest in learning about virtual currency and the technologies behind;and assemble teachers to provide investment consulting services to effectively control students' risk in virtual currency investment. The relevant regulatory aspect may re-examine the virtual currency investment, take the essence and discard the dregs;strengthen the attention and protection for college students who have participate in virtual currency investment;strengthen the construction of virtual currency investment supporting mechanism and system and facilitate paths of the college-student virtual currency investment rights protection.Strengthen cooperation with formal financial institutions to achieve a harmonious development of virtual currency finance and traditional finance.
