Have a good knowledge to the situation of the risking behavior of health and the personality traits of high school students’ in rural of Xiang Xi Autonomous Prefecture. Analyze the relationship between of the risking behavior of health and personality traits and discuss what kind of personality traits of middle school students is prone to having the risking behavior of health. Provide reference for improving the status of the risking behavior of health of high school students’ in rural of Xiang Xi Autonomous Prefecture.This research adopts adolescent health related behavior questionnaire which has been revised by the domestic scholars and Exxon personality questionnaire. It stratified random cluster sampled 1724 middle school students in rural of Xiang Xi Autonomous Prefecture to have questionnaire survey. On the basis of correlation analysis, use chi-square test to explore the status of the risking behavior of health in different personality traits.Results:(1) the report rate for the middle school students in rural of Xiang Xi Autonomous Prefecture who lack of physical exercise is 72.08%. The report rate of trying to smoke, smoking for the first time at the age of 13 or less, and currently and often smoking are respectively at 40.68%, 78.47%, 21.79%, 78.47%. More than 10% of students have heavy drinking, drunken behavior. The report rate of Internet addiction, cycling in a breaking law way, going swimming in unsafe place are respectively 15.91%, 33.5%, 35.4%. Reports for high school students’ suicidal ideation, ideas of being away from home are respectively at a rate of 25.38%, 30.77%, which are higher than the junior high school students.(2) From the middle school students’ mental quality dimension in rural of Xiang Xi Autonomous Prefecture, junior high school students’ scores are higher than high school students. Tujia students are higher than the Miao nationality. While the Miao nationality are higher than the Han nationality. From the inside and outside dimension, girls’ scores are more than boys, left-behind students are higher than the non-left-behind students. Form the neuroticism dimension, girls’ scores are more than boys, the tujia students are higher than the Han nationality while Han nationality are higher than the Miao nationality. From the masked dimension high school students’ scores are higher than the junior high school students, the left-behind students are higher than the non-left-behind student. The differences in all of them are with statistical significance(P < 0.05).(3) the risking behavior of health of the middle school students in rural of Xiang Xi Autonomous Prefecture has close correlation with personality traits: the middle school students who belongs to tendentious or typical mental quality often drink soda, often watch TV, try smoking, smoke for the first time at the age of 13 or less, drink currently, drink heavily, drunken, addict to Internet, play computer games for a long time, surf the Internet for a long time, have suicidal ideation and ideas of being away from home. The report rate of such behaviors of those students is significantly higher than normal students. The middle school students who belongs to tendentious or typical nervousness often watch TV, try smoking, smoke for the first time at the age of 13 or less, play computer games for a long time, surf the Internet for a long time, take insomnia, and depression, have suicidal ideation and ideas of being away from home. The report rate of such behaviors of those students is significantly higher than the intermediate type students. The Report rate for introverted students behavior that is lack of physical exercise is higher than out-going students. The report rate of out-going students’ behavior of heavy drinking, going swimming in unsafe place etc. is higher than the introverted student.Conclusion: There exist differences in gender and phase of studying of the risking behavior of health for high school students’ in rural of Xiang Xi Autonomous Prefecture. All kinds of the risking behavior of health’s report rate is relatively and high and universal. Smoking and drinking age trends to younger-age. The middle school students in rural of Xiang Xi Autonomous Prefecture who belongs to tendentious or typical mental quality are easier to have the behaviors of often drinking soda, often watching TV, trying smoking, smoking for the first time at the age of 13 or less, drinking currently, drinking heavily, drunkenness, addicting to Internet, playing computer games for a long time, surfing the Internet for a long time, having suicidal ideation and ideas of being away from home etc. The middle school students who belongs to tendentious or typical nervousness are easier to have the behaviors of watching TV, trying smoking, smoking for the first time at the age of 13 or less, playing computer games for a long time, surfing the Internet for a long time, taking insomnia and depression, having suicidal ideation and ideas of being away from home etc. Introverted students are prone to having the behavior of lack of physical exercise. Extroverted students are prone to having the behavior of smoking for the first time at the age of 13 or less, drinking heavily, going swimming to unsafe place etc.Suggestions: schools and families should carry out life skills education, cultivate personal skills and improve safety awareness. Create a healthy environment together. Promote health education of no smoking and no drinking. Focus on students’ psychological health, cultivate rural middle school students’ healthy personality traits; take corresponding measures to intervene according to the characteristics of the students’ personality traits.
