Social Work Assistance For Carers Of Elderly Patients

With the rapid entry of the aging population in China,the number of the elderly has increased rapidly.Because of the decline in physical function due to age,combined with the effects of disease,older persons tend to be physically weak and need others to take care of their lives.For the elderly,the disease not only brings them physical pain,but also brings them the burden of life.Instead of creating value for their families and society,they need to be cared for by others,which also causes them a certain psychological burden.To take care of the patient,the full attention and commitment of the patient's caregiver is needed.In China,under the influence of traditional culture,"the best filial piety is the first",the way of old-age care is mainly at home,so the responsibility of care for the elderly patients is mainly borne by the families of the patients.In the whole process of developing and treating the diseases of the patients,the caregivers need to take good care of the elderly patients,requiring a long period of high physical strength,but also a certain amount of greeting skills.There is a greater need to balance caring for patients with their working lives.Because the patient is a family member,the grief of the sick caregiver also needs to be properly regulated.Their stress stems from fear that the patient may be in the near future,avoidance of the topic of illness and death,depression of negative emotions due to fear of increasing stress,prolonged and intense care of the patient,neglect of their physical and mental health,and remorse for lack of care skills.Under various pressures,older caregivers encounter problems and dilemmas that,if not effectively addressed,can seriously affect the physical and even mental health of the caregivers.In the past,society tended to focus on older patients rather than their caregivers,who were shown to need the same attention from all sectors of society,especially professional social workers.This article mainly from the perspective of social work,using the professional methods of social work to help the elderly caregivers,promote them to better solve theirproblems,meet their needs,and improve their ability to adapt to the environment.From the perspective of social work,this paper mainly uses the professional methods of social work to help elderly carers to better solve their problems,meet their needs and improve their ability to adapt to the environment.First,by interviewing and accompanying elderly carers to build up a relationship of trust and understanding of the problems of elderly carers,then carry on a further analysis of these problems,organize the concept of elderly carers to support the needs of social work,social methods of helping the elderly,and social methods of relaxing the elderly,and social methods of supporting the elderly,using the social methods of helping the elderly to adopt the theory and the theory of social resistance to adopt.Promote them to better solve problems and to learn to face difficulties with a positive attitude.Through analyzing and summarizing the activities,the author finds that the problem of nursing care for elderly patients is effectively solved.The activities of the Group are well targeted and informative.Through group activities,the group members soothed their negative emotions,expressed their true feelings,formed a correct understanding of the patients and their diseases,and learned to use the resources within the group,through the group members support platform to solve the difficulties encountered and the text,to take a more active attitude to care for the elderly patients and face their future life.Through the health lecture hall activities,the caregivers enrich care skills and basic medical knowledge,which provide a basis for better care and contribute to the promotion of health perceptions of patients and the family as a whole.Through blind walking activities,promote the communication and understanding between doctors and patients,promote the harmony of departments.These also provide a reference for future work to address the problems and needs of more older caregivers.
