The Willingness To Have A Second Child And Influence Factors Of Married Women Of Childbearing Age

In 2016,Chinese fertility policy had a significant landmark again-the universal two-child policy was implemented.After the implementation of the new policy,it is important to understand the willingness to have a second child of key groups-married women of childbearing age who are in line with policy,and study its influence factors.That could provide references for solving the current serious population problems of China,be ready to do the future work of fertility policy and promote a long-term balanced development of population.The research based on data obtained from the survey of fertility willingness from seven provinces.And its methods are Questionnaire,Unstructured interview and Document study.The research also used inter-generational wealth flow theory as the guiding line.Main conclusions of the research are followings:(1)The willingness to have a second child of key groups-married women of childbearing age is not strong.The willingness to have a second child of married women of childbearing age who are from one-child family is lower than those who are from other families.(2)Ideal number of children is inclined to two and average ideal number of children is 1.64.Types of profession and levels of education both have certain influences on ideal number of children.(3)For the married women of childbearing age,the decision-making factors of having a second child is turning to be emotional-oriented.By contrast,the conservative views which focus on the continuation of family line,improving family's comprehensive capabilities and so on tend to be weaken.Therefore,for those married women of childbearing age who are greatly affected by emotional-oriented views,they prefer not to have their second child.(4)Gender preference of married women of childbearing age tends to be diversified.Among married women of childbearing age,hoping one son and one daughter' women have the largest number.And the willingness to have a second child of married women of childbearing age who have no gender preference is lower.(5)The gender of existing child has a great influence on the willingness to have a second child of married women of childbearing age.Married women of childbearingage who already have a girl are more likely to have a second child than those who already have a boy.(6)Influence factors such as family costs are too high,the contradiction between family and work,the supporting effect of children is weaker,gender preference is weaker,the education level of married women of childbearing age is increasing and so on lead to the low willingness to have a second child.Besides,age and types of registered permanent residence also have a big influence on the willingness to have a second child of key groups-married women of childbearing age.
