Research On Time Management Disposition Of College Students Based On Psychological Control Sources And Achievement Goal Orientation

Tourism is a strategic pillar industry of China's national economy.While driving China's economic consumption and promoting the orderly development of all walks of life,the social demand for tourism practitioners is also increasing.Based on the principle of combining theory with practice,this paper explores the different time management preferences of undergraduates majoring in tourism management from the perspective of source of psychological control and achievement goal orientation.To focus on the mental health of students majoring in tourism management,so as to improve their time management ability,in order to cultivate more suitable talents for tourism.In this study,354 undergraduates majoring in Tourism Management in several universities in Liaoning Province were investigated by using the Internal-Extermal Source of Control Scale,the Adolescent Time Management Tendency Scale compiled by Huang Xiting and Zhang Zhijie,and Liu Huijun's Achievement Goal Orientation Scale.The results are as follows:(1)The three dimensions of time value,time monitoring and time efficacy of undergraduates majoring in tourism management are all on the upper middle level;the locus of psychological control shows the tendency of internal control;the mastery of approaching goals,achievement approaching goals and mastery of avoiding goals are on the middle level in achievement goal orientation,but they show the trend of middle to lower in achievement avoidance goals.(2)On the demographic variable of gender,there are differences in the sense of time value and time efficacy among undergraduates majoring in tourism management.There are no significant differences in the source of psychological control among undergraduates majoring in tourism management.There are obvious differences in mastery approach,mastery avoidance and achievement avoidance in achievement goal orientation.(3)In the demographic variable of grade,there are differences in the time monitoring view of undergraduates majoring in tourism management:there is no obvious difference in the source of psychological control;there are obvious differences in the grasp of the approaching goal between Freshmen and seniors,and there are obvious differences in the achievement of the undergraduates majoring in Tourism Management between sophomores and juniors.(4)Whether or not the undergraduate students of tourism management major are student cadres is a demographic variable.The undergraduates of tourism management major have higher scores in time monitoring,time efficacy and time value than those who are not class cadres.There is no significant difference between the undergraduates of Tourism Management Major of locus of psychological control and the undergraduates of achievement goal orientation only grasp the approaching goal and achieve it.There are differences in approaching goals.(5)The undergraduates majoring in Tourism Management scored higher in the sense of time value,the sense of time monitoring and the sense of time efficacy than those of external control.Besides the goal of performance avoidance,the scores of mastering the goal of avoidance,the goal of approaching and the goal of achievement approaching were higher than those of the undergraduates majoring in Tourism management.(6)There is a significant positive correlation between the sense of time value and the locus of psychological control of undergraduates majoring in tourism management.When the score of time value is higher,undergraduates majoring in tourism management tend to be internally controlled.There is a significant negative correlation between the sense of time value and the mastery of avoidance goals.The lower the score of mastery of avoidance goals,die higher the time value scores.The higher the performance avoidance goal,the lower the scores of time efficacy and time monitoring concept.There is a significant positive correlation between mastering the approaching goal and achievement approaching goal on the time monitoring concept,time value and time efficacy of Undergraduates in tourism management.(7)Achievement avoidance goal,mastery approach goal and achievement approach goal in achievement goal orientation have influence power on time monitoring view,in which achievement avoidance goal has negative influence on time monitoring view;locus of control and mastery approach goal,achievement approach goal and mastery avoidance goal can influence time value sense;achievement approach goal,mastery approach goal and achievement approach goal have an influence on time value sense;Avoiding goals can affect time efficacy.Taking tourism management as an example,this paper explores the characteristics of college students with different time management tendencies,hoping to guide students to a reasonable attribution model,a positive motivation orientation,and ultimately improve the time management ability of undergraduates majoring in tourism management,so as to cultivate more suitable talents for tourism development.
