In recent years,the influence of the internet addiction on teenagers attracts the researchers’ attention.Internet addiction is a common phenomenon,which has a negative effect on the youth’s physical and mental health as well as their academic performance.Previous studies have shown that internet addiction is related to the individual’s achievement motivation.The higher level of achievement motivation that the individuals have,the less possibility that they have in addicting to the internet.According to the 50 th statistical report on China’s Internet development,in terms of age structure,the proportion of Internet users aged 10-19 and 20-29 is 13.5% and 17.2%,while many vocational college students are in the age group of 20-29.As the main group of the use of internet,the vocational college students are also easily affected by the internet addiction.If we do not control and intervene this behavior,internet addiction may have negative impact on the vocational college students.This study takes vocational college students as the research object,studies the influence of achievement motivation on vocational college students’ s internet addiction,and analyzes the chain mediating effect of achievement goal orientation and time management disposition.Based on this research,the study adopts a group counseling method under the theme of improving achievement motivation,explores its intervention effect on vocational college students’ internet addiction,and tests its effect on internet addiction intervention.Study 1 is quantitative study.It consists of 1082 subjects from three different types of vocational colleges.This study aims to explore the relationship among vocational college students’ achievement motivation,achievement goal orientation,time management disposition and inetnet addiction.Study 2 is an intervention study.Based on the results of study 1,40 students with lower level of achievement motivation and higher level of internet addiction were chosen.These subjects were divided into the experimental group(20 students)and the control group(20 students).The group counseling plan is combined with the relevant dimensions of achievement motivation.The intervertion was implemented for the experimental group for 8 weeks,and the control group did not receive any treatment.The two groups of students were pre-tested and post-tested and the intervention effect was evaluated.The results are as follows:(1)There is a certain proportion of internet addiction among vocational college students,accounting for 17.3% of the subjects.(2)There are significant differences in achievement motivation and internet addiction in terms of gender,place of origin,whether the only child,whether the class leader,different grades,major satisfaction and differents types of vocational colleges;achievement goal orientation and time management disposition have significant differences in different grades and colleges;(3)There are correlations among vocational college students’ achievement motivation,achievement goal orientation,time management disposition and internet addiction.Achievement motivation is positively correlated with the two variables of achievement goal orientation and time management disposition,and negatively correlated with the internet addiction.(4)Achievement goal orientation plays a part of mediating role between achievement motivation and internet addiction.Time management disposition plays a part of mediating role between achievement motivation and internet addiction.From the results of the chain mediation effect,achievement goal orientation and time management disposition play a partial chain mediation role between achievement goal and internet addiction.(5)After receiving the group counseling with the theme of improving achievement goal,members of the experimental group have significantly improved their achievement goal and reduced the degree of internet addiction.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)Achievement motivation not only affects internet addiction directly,but it can also affect internet addiction through the chain mediation effects of achievement goal orientation and time management disposion.(2)Group counceling with the theme of improving achievement motivation has raised the level of vocational students’ achievement motivation,inspired them to set the goals and learn how to manage time,and reduced the degree of internet addiction.
