Estimation is widely used in daily life,such as shopping,travel,etc.Estimation is not only a necessary skill to learn,but also a necessary skill in daily life.Although accurate calculation is important,it still cannot replace the position and function of estimation.For the information age,estimation has become a requirement for the basic quality of citizens,and also a practical requirement for primary mathematics classroom teaching.Estimation can not only improve the number sense of students,develop thinking ability,cultivate thinking ability,improve the accuracy of calculation,improve the quality of primary school students,but also solve problems in daily life.Therefore,according to the implementation of mathematics curriculum standards for compulsory education(2011),the status quo of mathematics estimation for primary school students in grades 3-6 is investigated.In this paper,literature analysis method,questionnaire survey method,test paper method,etc.,are used to investigate the status of the estimated level of primary school 433 students in JinZhou SY primary school from grade 3 to grade 6.Then,the paper analyzes the estimation level of the students from 3 to 6,the common types of errors in the estimation,the estimation strategies used by the students and the estimation awareness of the students.The estimation level of the students is analyzed from the aspects of the overall estimation level of the test,the estimation level of the four operations and the estimation level of the practical application.Summarize and summarize the errors of students in the estimation process,and analyze them.The estimation strategies used by grade three,four,five and six students were analyzed one by one.The estimation consciousness of students is analyzed from the aspects of students' evaluation of self-estimation ability,students' attitude towards estimation and students' judgment of estimated value.Finally,based on the data and analysis,conclusions and recommendations are drawn.Through survey tests and data analysis,grade 3-6 students have a strong awareness of estimation,but their estimation level needs to be improved.The estimation strategies mastered by students are relatively simple,and they need to learn diversified estimation strategies.Inaddition,their ability to solve practical problems by using estimation needs to be improved.Suggestions are put forward from the aspects of textbook compilation,teachers' teaching,students themselves and evaluation of estimation.
