Estimation is an important skill in learning mathematics and is widely used in life.Its unique value makes it more and more important in modern education.In the Mathematics Curriculum Standard for compulsory Education(2011 Edition),the content of the estimation section is required.It is emphasized that it is necessary not only to choose the appropriate method to solve the estimation problem,but also to realize the function of estimation in life.Therefore,this study focuses on the primary school students in the second section of the estimation of the current situation of the survey.In this study,the author of the fourth,fifth and sixth grade students conducted a questionnaire survey and estimated the results of the test,A school first-line primary school mathematics teachers were interviewed,and finally came to the following conclusions:First,In the aspect of estimation consciousness,the students' estimation consciousness is weak,which mainly shows that the understanding of the meaning,strategy and result of estimation is not correct enough,and the consciousness of rational use of estimation strategy is still poor.In the process of using estimation to solve the problem,it tends to use accurate calculation;Second,In terms of estimation strategies,students have a rich pool of estimation strategies,but the use of individual estimation strategies is relatively single,and some of them can select and use multiple strategies to solve the same type of estimation problems.And with the increase of students' grade and age,the number of students'selection of estimation strategies is increasing.Third,students lack the ability to use estimation to solve practical problems,and some of the students in the study are still used to accurate calculation;Some students can try to use estimation to solve the problem,but it is easy to ignore the specific problem situation,so that the estimation effect is not good.Fourth,the three grade students have the best score in integer addition and the lowest in integer division estimation,which shows that the students' estimation result is influenced by the item type.There was significant difference in grade scores among the three grades,but there was no significant gender difference.Fifthly,there are three kinds of errors in estimation,six kinds of errors,among which the frequency of accurate calculation is the highest,and the unreasonable adjustment of numbers is one of the problems that can not be ignored.Sixth,teachers in the second section of the school pay little attention to the estimation teaching in the aspect of teacher interview,and the estimation content involved in the teaching material is less.Based on the findings,the author makes an analysis of the existing problems,and puts forward suggestions from the three angles of curriculum setting,teachers themselves and estimating classroom teaching,that is to say,to increase the content of estimation in teaching materials;Teachers should study the curriculum standards carefully,grasp the relevant requirements of estimation,enhance their teaching skills in estimating,and improve their ability to estimate.Attention should be paid to the cultivation of students' estimation consciousness,the improvement of students'estimation skills,the effective evaluation of students' estimation process and results,and the cultivation of students' ability to use estimation to solve problems.
