Degeneration And Reconstruction Of Cognitive And Social Communication Function:Study On The Effectiveness Of Group Work In The Elderly With Mild Dementia

China has entered an aging society,and the elderly population is increasing year by year.The health and quality of life of the elderly population cannot be ignored.Nowadays,dementia is known as one of the "four major killers" that threatens the health of the elderly.The frequent occurrence of the loss of the old and the accidental death of the demented old people has also made the demented elderly become the focus of attention.At present,there is no clear theory about the causes of dementia,but it will have a very serious impact on the cognitive ability and self-care ability of the elderly,and will increase its cognitive ability and life as the patient's condition continues to increase.Self-care ability is declining until it is completely lost.Dementia can also puts a heavy burden on the family while seriously threatening the quality of life of the elderly.Because dementia is irreversible and incurable,some non-pharmacological interventions have been developed to delay the progression of dementia,improve the quality of life of patients,and provide breathing time for caregivers.In this paper,the group work method is used to intervene in the problems and needs of the elderly with mild dementia.It is hoped that the cognitive function and social communication ability of the elderly with mild dementia will be rebuilt to actively adapt to the community life.This study relies on the home-based elderly care project carried out by a social work service center in Jinan City.Eight mildly mentally handicapped seniors were selected in the community,and the activities were held once a week for two months.The whole process includes to conduct interviews with clients and their families before the event,analyze and evaluate their problems and needs,and design activities based on activity theory and ecosystem theory.During the group's development process,the team members' feedback was collected,and the team members' performance,social worker performance,and activity design were evaluated to identify problems and make adjustments.At the end of the project,the team members were post-tested,and the data collected by the pre-test and post-test were compared to evaluate the effectiveness of the team's work intervention.Through the analysis of the data,it can be seen that the intervention of the group work is effective in general,and the team members have also changed significantly after the group activities.The author believes that it is very important and necessary for social work to intervene in the elderly group.The group work is a tool to solve the social problems and improve the demented elderly.Its social communication ability has obvious effects.However,due to the particularity of dementia itself,the intervention time should be more rationally planned,and the impact of short-term intervention on cognitive function is not very significant.Moreover,the combination of multiple social work methods is more conducive to a comprehensive solution to the problem.
