Practice Of Group Work To Alleviate The Psychological Pressure Of Demented Elderly Nursing

Since reform and opening up,with the development of China's medical level,the per capita life expectancy is increasing,and the death rate is greatly reduced,But the characteristics of the large population base make China declare into the aged society as early as the 2000.According to statistics,the elderly population over 65 years of age has reached 127 million by 2012.The acceleration of aging greatly increases the risk of Alzheimer's disease.However,as a special group of elderly people,the proportion of the dementia elderly population is increasing.At the same time,due to the characteristics of the dementia elderly,the caregivers are often unable to give adequate care due to their lack of energy.In this context,most families choose to send the elderly to the nursing home for professional care.However,due to the lack of general nursing staff and professional skills in the old-age institutions inour country,and the dementia elderly lack of knowledge,communication,emotional instability,hallucinations and strange behaviors,and total inability to self-care,both challenge the ability of caregivers to take care of themselves.At the same time,long-term care of elderly people with dementia also exerts great pressure on the body and mind of caregivers.Make nursing staff suffer from depression,oppressive,job burnout and even resignation.The nursing staff as the main body to take care of the elderly with dementia,so their personal situation will also affect the life quality of old people.Therefore,the pressure that nurses face should be taken seriously.This paper starts from the perspective of group work method which is one of the three skills of social work.Using literature method,interview method and questionnaire survey method.By looking up literature and using interview method to interview the nursing staff of the nursing home,we can understand the pressure,problems and needs.And carry out group activities according to the nursing staff's problems and needs.Build support groups for caregivers and rebuild social support networks.Relieve pressure from the elderly,their families and caregiver's families.The aim is to arouse the enthusiasm of the nursing staff and the ability to learn professional skills of the disabled.In order to meet the needs of the elderly with dementia.
