For children of the first grade in primary school,Learning and communication are key parts of their life.Learning provides potential opportunities for children while communication is the sufficient condition for children's self-development,therefore their peer relationship,learning adaptability and academic performance have been widely concerned by researchers.However,their studies are mainly focused on Junior and high school students,few studies on primary school students,especially on the first-grade students.390 first-grade students in a primary school in chengdu being taken as the research samples,by questionnaire survey and peer nomination method,the study talks about peer relationship,learning adaptability and academic performance with corresponding education suggestions.The main findings of this study are as follows:(1)About peer relations,there is a significant gender difference between peer acceptance and peer rejection.Female peer acceptance is obviously better than male,while female peer rejection is significantly lower than male.(2)In this study,the grade of average learning adaptability is 3.0,which is the same as the norm average grade,but the learning adaptability for excellent students(3.3%)is slower than that of the normal average(7%)while the learning adaptability for maladjustment students(30.8%)is the same as normal average(31%).For those maladjustment students,failure detection rate for family environment and school environment is nearly 40%,for learning attitude,way of listening to lectures,independence and perseverance is close to 25%.Obviously,there are prominent problems in learning adaptability.(3)About learning adaptability,there are significant gender differences in learning attitude,listening method,school environment,independence and perseverance.The learning adaptability of female is superior to that of male students.(4)Significant correlation exists among peer relationship,learning adaptability,and academic performance.Peer acceptance has positive correlation with learning adaptability and academic performance while peer rejection has negative correlation with learning adaptability and academic performance;In the mean time,learning adaptability is positively correlated with academic performance.(5)Peer acceptance has a positive predictive effect on learning adaptability and academic performance;Peer rejection has a negative predictive effect on learning adaptability and academic performance;Learning adaptability has a positive predictive effect on academic performance;Learning adaptability has a full mediating effect between peer acceptance and academic performance,and a partial mediating effect between peer rejection and academic performance.
