Electronic games have been developing rapidly since they came into being in the 1950 s.They provide players with a way to express themselves in the virtual world, they also bring people new experience of survival and shape a new mode of communication and interaction. In addition, due to the increasingly important role and function of narrative in electronic games, narrators and game experts have never stopped discussing the narrative of electronic games. The interactive nature of electronic games makes the narrative in electronic games have interactive characteristics.Players are not only passive receivers of narrative texts, but also active creators of narrative content. This paper uses case studies, participatory studies and interviews, combined with the author's personal game experience, around the game case of "The Legend of Zelda:Breath of the Wild",to analyze its specific narrative elements, focusing on how electronic games achieve narrative. Then interviews with game players are conducted to find out what role players play in the narrative of electronic games, how players participate in the narrative of electronic games and what emotional experiences players can get in the electronic games. After analyzing the theoretical framework and specific games, the author finds that "The Legend of Zelda:Breath of the Wild" has three narrative characteristics: dynamic and static alternating narration, highly interactive narration and immersed emotion.Based on these narrative characteristics and referring to the interview results, the author summarizes three inspirations for game designers in designing game narrative, using dynamic and static narrative techniques, increasing the interactive plot of players' participation, and paying attention to players' internal and external emotions.
