Research On The Historical Evolution Of Sports Program In The Winter Paralympic Games

In 2008,the incomparable Summer Olympic Games allowed Beijing to accumulate successful experiences in hosting the Olympic Games.The success in winning the bid to host the 24 th Winter Olympic Games in 2022 makes Beijing become the first " double Olympics" city in the world,and the hosting of this Winter Olympics is also highly expected by Chinese people.Now as the country and society are in a new era of peace and development,the 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympic Games will bring about a new climax of the Olympic movement once again.They will continue to affect the new generation of young people of China and make the Olympic movement and its spirit an important element in promoting China's development.The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics has put forward the movement that " 300 million people participate in ice and snow sports",as there are a large number of disabled people in China and they need to participate in sports as well.The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is undoubtedly a golden opportunity and it could also reflect the country great attention to winter sports and the health of people.Disability is an innate social phenomenon for human society.Some people are born with disability,others are caused by some accidents.No matter what,disabled people are also a part of our society.We should give full play to the superiority of the socialist system to pay more attention to the disabled and take good care of them.We should help them participate in sports,and make them have healthier body and live a more secure life.According to statistics,the number of China's disabled people is about 85 million,among whom only 8 million disabled people often take part in sports.The number of the disabled is huge,and how to protect the basic rights and interests of the disabled better is a huge challenge for us.With the development of society,this figure is still rising.Since the reform and opening up,China's disabled sports have reached a new stage,however this still cannot reflect the fact that most of disabled people cannot participate in sports.Therefore,to speed up the construction of a strong sports country,attention should be paid to the sports of the disabled.As the 2022 Winter Paralympic Games comes,the discussion of the Winter Paralympic Games is undoubtedly of great theoretical and practical significance in the context of the construction of a world sports power beyond a sports powerThis paper employs the methods of literature review,historical research,logical analysis and mathematical statistics.It also takes the development background of the Winter Paralympic Games into consideration to explains in detail the evolution process of the Winter Paralympic Games in three stages and draws the following conclusions:First,according to the setting time of the Winter Paralympic Games and the symbolic events that the winter sports became a part of the Winter Paralympic Games,this study divides the historical evolution of the setting of the Winter Paralympic Games into three stages,specifically the starting stage(1976-1988),the development stage(1992-2002)and the reform and innovation stage(2006-2018).The three stages are co-related and the Winter Paralympic Games is developing steadily into a scientific and reasonable directionSecond,from the 1st Winter Paralympics in 1976 to the 12 th Winter Paralympics in 2018,the development of major sports is slow.They developed from 2 sports in the starting stage,2 in the development stage and 3 in the mature stage.In terms of disciplines,from 4 items in the starting stage,4 in the development stage and 6 in the mature stage.In terms of events,there were 53 items in the starting stage,92 in the development stage and 80 in the mature stage.As far as sports setting is concerned,it can be concluded that in terms of the number of sports settings,the development of sports is relatively slow,and that of disciplines is steadily rising,while the events are on a downward trend due to the cancellation of the sleigh racing from the 8thWinter Paralympics and the specification of sports setting.Third,in participating countries and athletes,there were 198 athletes from 16 countries in 1976 and 564 athletes from 49 countries by 2018.There will be more disabled athletes in the future.In addition,due to the increase of events and the improvement of women's competitive level,the number of women participating in the Winter Paralympics has also increased significantly,from 18.6% in Ornskoldsvik,Sweden,to 23.5% in Pyeongchang,South Korea.The proportion of men and women is tending to balance and the scale of participation is ever-increasing.Fourth,in Winter Paralympic Games,the ice and snow events should be set up according to the characteristics of the development of the event itself,which can reduce the difficulty of participating and increase the participation of the disabled and encourage them to participate.Disabled Alpine Skiing and Cross-country Skiing are attractive and technical for the disabled.These events can attract people to participate widely and popularize winter sports so as to promote the cognition and understanding of ice and snow sports for the disabled.
