The parallel lines content,which is studied in 7th grade,is an important content of junior mathematics and the basic knowledge of graphics and geometry fields.The parallel lines content has a wide range of applications in daily life.Parallel lines property theorem and judgement theorem usually examined together with other geometric contents.In middle school entrance exams,parallel lines content usually combines with other contents to form moderately difficult comprehensive problems.In order to advance reform in middle school mathematics teaching,the thesis,with teaching and learning of parallel lines content as the studying object,investigates the true situation of it.Finally,according to the investigation result put forward proper teaching suggestions.Through the methods of literature research,interviews,case analysis,questionnaire survey,test survey,the thesis found the following problems in the parallel lines content teaching: the concept of teaching is relatively traditional,and subject status of students is not clear;teaching objectives are unscientific.It pays more attention to knowledge target,but not the same to the "process and the method" objective and emotion objective;teaching methods of this content are still traditional and single,which are not consistent with characteristics of parallel lines content and seventh grade students' thinking features,and it isn't intuitive enough;training process of ability is not a gradual process,which is not up to the cognitive rule of students and law of abilities development.Through test survey of seventh grade students,some existing learning problems of parallel lines content have been found.Mainly includes: interests and confidence in learning parallel lines content should be raised,and it is necessary to improve the learning methods of this contents;lack the ability of knowledge application;they are good at simple uses of parallel lines contents,but have difficulty in combining these contents to resolve some problems.Mistakes such as “step-missing”,“imprecision”,“confusion of logic”,“causality reversal” tend to occur in the process of reasoning,mathematical reasoning ability should be raised;image recognition ability of them is poor,they are not good at abstracting basic geometry pattern from real scenario,and decomposing complicated geometric figure,then recognizing basic geometry pattern in it is also difficult for them.Finally,according to the outcome of survey,the article put forward teaching suggestions and strategies from four aspects: teaching objectives,teaching material,breakthrough of the difficulties,capacity-building.
