Nowadays, the great value of layered homework in "increasing education efficiency and reducing students' burden" and so on is highlighted under the popularity of domestic research, the guidance of education reform, and the requirement of curriculum standards. How to reach the full potential of layered homework to meet the needs of different students and stimulate students' interest in learning is still a topic worthy of study.Through the literature research method, the author combs the related researches on mathematical pedagogy of variation and layered homework, and establishes significance of the research. Then,a questionnaire on the current situation of mathematics homework was handed out in two classes of the first grade of junior high school in the author's internship school. It was found that currently, mathematics homework is characterized by large amounts of exercise, great validity and so on.Based on previous research and investigation results, the author compiled a mathematics layered homework scheme for students in the first grade of junior high school, which includes three segments:student stratification, homework stratification, and correction and feedback stratification, taking two sections in the chapter"Intersecting Lines and Parallel Lines" as an example to show the detailed process of implementing the layered homework scheme. Then,a layered homework experiment was carried out by the author in a class in the first grade of the author's internship school.Helped by SPSS and other software, the author analyzed the mathematics scores of the experimental class and the control class in the large-scale examination after the layered homework experiment, and there are statistically significant differences between the math scores of the experimental class and the control class, and that the stratified assignments have a positive effect on improving math scores. After interviewing 21 students randomly selected from the three layers of A,B and C in the experimental class, the author learned that the layered homework has beneficial effects on them in many aspects.By interviewing seven seventh-grade mathematics teachers before and after the layered homework experiment, the author learned about the experience and shortcomings of the math teachers in the first grade of the junior high school in assigning layered homework, and also realized the effectiveness and inadequacy of the author's practice of layered homework. The effectiveness of the layered homework implemented by the author is reflected in two points:(1)enhancing the confidence of low-level students to solve difficult problems(2)carrying the unique value of variable exercises. However, there are also two shortcomings:(1)lack of variant homework difficulty, especially to lower the homework difficulty of low-level students and improve the homework difficulty of high-level students;(2)ability to help teachers master the skills of designing variable exercise;failure to reduce the workload of teachers.Based on questionnaires, interviews, and experimental research, four things were concluded:current situation of math homework of students in the first year of junior high school, current situation of layered homework assigned by math teachers of the first year of junior high school, layered homework scheme based on the theory of pedagogy of variation and the validity and optimization method of layered homework. The research still has three defects:lack of quantity standard of layering students;lack of long-term experimental research and difficulties to alleviate teachers' work.
