OBJECTIVE:This paper takes the in-school undergraduates as research object to discover their public speech anxiety, and try to find the influence of the parenting style and the cognitive biases on it as well as to provide gist for consultation and treatment to the problem. And try to assist the parents to find appropriate ways that can improve college students’public speech anxiety.METHODS:By stratified sampling, the paper investigated650students in Chengdu Medical College;the paper use Personal Report of Confidence as a Speaker scales and scales and EMBU scales. These scales test the relationship between parenting styles and cognitive biases and public speech anxiety of undergraduates, and use analysis of correlation and analysis of regression to analvses the outcome. RESULTS1. The mean value of PRCS in these undergraduate students was14.092, standard deviation was6.275. In terms of gender, male and female in the total score of PRCS was (12.072±6.144),(14.840±6.164). In resource of students, city and country undergraduates students’ score was (12.559±6.344),(14.454±6.211). The4dimensionalities of father’s education score, namely university or above, High school/secondary school, Junior middle school, primary school were (11.878±6.363),(12.492±5.638),(14.672±6.365),(14.961±6.294). The4dimensionalities of mother’s education score, namely university or above, High school secondary school, Junior middle school, primary school were(11.026±4.869),(12.711±6.219),(14.070±6.388),(14.992±6.198). There was statistically significant correlation in the basic information, sexes, education, gender by T multiple regression analysis (P<0.01).2. The4dimensionalities of growth environment’s score were:(13.838±6.210),(15.451±6.571),(11.929±6.324) and (14.213±5.876). There was a statistically significant difference in growth environment dimension scores (P<0.05). The analysis of variance showed different majors, grades scores showed no significant difference (P>0.05).3. The undergraduate students’ speech anxiety and cognitive bias, parenting dimensions correlation analysis. The speech anxiety and emotional warmth and understanding of parenting styles have significant negative correlation(r=-0.216,r=-0.232,, P<0.01). And cognitive biases in depression have significant positive correlation (r=0.255), and cognitive distortion itself has no linear correlation, there is not relevant with the other dimension of parenting style.CONCLUSION:The public speech anxiety of college students is not so good; the checkout rate of middle level is higher. There are significant differences between different grades and sexes, and less significant differences among and maj ors. The parenting styles between male and female undergraduates, city and country are significant difference. The parenting style and cognitive biases of college students is an important influencing factor of their public speech anxiety, and different parenting styles bring out different influences. Among parenting style, emotional warmth is positive and rejection.over involvement, punishment, strictness and favoring subject are negative one. which has bad effect on children’s public speech level parents’ preference has no significant influence to college students’public speech.Comparatively, the mother’s "punishment and strictness","emotional warmth" and the father’s over protection’ have more important influence on children’s public speech anxiety than the other dimensions.
