With the development of society and economy,a wide variety of talents are in increasing demand and the culture is also diversified.Thus,to comply with this trend,a great number of students have majored in fine arts,music and sports in recent years.Unfortunately,these students have poor basic knowledge of Chinese and deficiency of language ability.So how to enrich their knowledge and promote their ability? Language sense is mentioned several times in Ordinary High school Language Curriculum Standard(experiment),which attaches the importance to cultivating language sense and emphasizes the positive influence it plays on students,so I,the author,think it is Language sense that matters in Chinese teaching.Important as language sense teaching is,in reality,Chinese teachers focus on semantics of language,completely ignoring language sense,because of students' weak knowledge of Chinese.Language sense has been a hot issue in the past twenty years,theoretically and practically.It includes wide fields,such as psychology,education,linguistics,aesthetics etc,yet some relevant researches are far from enough,and still blank in many aspects.In theory,there is no clear and definite consensus on the nature and the psychological formation of language sense.What's more,in practice,few researches about language sense of students in senior high have been done,let alone those of the students specialized in arts,music and sports,and a set of effective teaching strategies on how to cultivate these students' language sense.Therefore,it is necessary to do such research.Based on the background of these researches,in this thesis,I take No.2 Middle School of Longquan as an experimental school,taking the students of this school as the research object.I mainly adopt literature analytical methods,questionnaire investigations and observational methods to have a better understanding of the current language sense of the students majoring in fine arts,music and sports.Also,I discover and analyze the cause and effect of the deficiency of language sense of these students.On the basis of Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences,I find out some teaching experience in language sense.On the basis of the theory of language sense and multiple intelligences,the thesis is divided into five parts to elaborate the topic.In the introduction,I analyze the origin,significance,methods and current situations at home and abroad about the issue.In the second part,I collect,learn and analyze relevant thoeries.In the third part,to find the strategies to improve their language sense,I thoroughtly analyze the research object including investigating and analyzing the current situations about their language study and language sense.In the fourth part,I put forward some suggestions on how to improve art students' language sense and summarize some practical and effective strategies.In the fifth part,I present two teaching designs about cultivating art students' language sense,and in this way,my aim is to show how to cultivate their language sense in daily teaching.I analyze the art students' language sense from theory to practice in the thesis,aiming at having a breakthrough in practical field.I explored some strategies of cultivating language sense,hoping to improve Chinese language teaching in our school and provide some reference value to other similar schools.
