At present,China has become one of the countries with the largest ageing population and the fastest aging in the world, and in the next few decades,China's aging will continue to deepen, which will make the demand for medical services in the domestic market continue to rise. This has caused a large degree of squeeze on the supply of medical health services in China. Therefore, the deepening of the aging problem not only makes the health problems of the elderly receive great attention, but also makes the state pay close attention to the medical expenses of the elderly. The health problems of the elderly generally include physical health and mental health.Mental health is often closely related to physical health and directly affects the physical health of the elderly. At present, the research on the physical health of the elderly is more extensive, while the research on the mental health of the elderly is relatively poor.Social capital is closely related to health, but the research on the relationship between social capital and mental health is relatively insufficient, especially in the field of studying mental health of the elderly.Research on income disparity in residents' health is also extremely extensive, but most studies are limited to the use of macroeconomic indicators as indicators of income disparity.Such findings are often inaccurate. Therefore, this paper adopts the international micro-inequality index relative income deprivation as the micro-individual income gap metric, which reduces the systematic error to some extent. And the elderly are at the end of the life cycle, and their accumulated wealth stocks peak,so the wealth gap should also have a certain impact on the mental health of the elderly. Therefore, this paper refers to the relative derivation of income to build a relative wealth deprivation index as a micro-scale measure of wealth gap.In addition, considering that the community is the main living environment of the elderly, the social capital, income gap and wealth gap at the community level may also affect the mental health of the elderly. Therefore, this paper deeply studies the impact of social capital and relative deprivation(including income deprivation and wealth deprivation)on the mental health of the elderly through Multilevel mixed-effects ordered probit response model technology, and further analyzes the impact of social capital and relative deprivation on the mental health of the elderly.Interaction.This has greatly enriched the relevant research in the field of mental health in the elderly in China. The study found that:(1)the increase of individual social capital helps to improve the mental health of urban and rural elderly, and the contribution of individual social capital to the mental health of urban elderly is significantly higher than that of rural areas.(2)Relative deprivation of individuals has a significant adverse effect on the mental health of the elderly, and the negative effect of individual wealth deprivation on the mental health of the elderly is more serious than that in rural areas, which indicates that older individuals are more inclined to compare wealth, resulting in A larger psychological gap affects mental health.(3)Community income deprivation has obvious adverse impact on the mental health of urban and rural elderly, but for the elderly with higher individual social capital, individual social capital can effectively buffer the adverse impact of individual relative deprivation, while individual social capital owns the relative deprivation of the elderly, which is lacking in size, significantly weakens the improvement of individual social capital.(4)The improvement of community social capital can significantly buffer the adverse impact of relative deprivation of the community on the mental health of rural elderly.(5)The study also confirmed that male elderly people have higher levels of mental health, good marriage and good education all contribute to the mental health of the elderly. The impact of smoking on the mental health of the elderly is actually not significant.Based on the research conclusions of this paper, several suggestions are put forward in a targeted manner:(1)vigorously promote community construction, implement and improve the center for elderly cultural activities, and encourage and help older people to participate more in community activities.(2)Continue to promote the reform of the taxation system, improve the system of old-age security and social security, and reduce the income gap of the elderly.Rationally allocate education and medical resources to promote social equity.(3)Give more social care to vulnerable elderly people such as rural elderly and senior citizens, strengthen the social emotional support with the disadvantaged elderly, help them to get out of the house more, and actively participate in the elderly cultural and recreational activities.
