Critical thinking has been highly valued by scholars at home and abroad in the context of core qualities.Peer evaluation is one of the most important aspects of process teaching methods.Scholars believe that this approach helps to promote language development,increase active participation,and provide learners with Effective comments,and can encourage students to think critically,and promote students to develop high-level cognitive skills.Based on relevant literature and theory,this study uses the argumentative writing style of Chinese subjects as the starting point to explore the influence of peer assessment on the development of critical thinking ability of senior high school students.In this study,the first one is to use the experimental method to select two classes in the second year of a high school in a city as the research object,and adopt the unequal control group in the quasi-experimental design before and after the test,and conduct a one-semester teaching experiment.Using the researchers' revised Critical Thinking Ability Measurement Table(CTDI-CV)to measure students' critical thinking ability,the independent variables in the teaching experiment are teaching strategies,the dependent variable is the critical thinking ability,and the peer assessment is evaluated.Influencing the development of critical thinking ability in high school students;The second is to use interviews to explore the experimental class students' perceptions of the impact of peer assessment on critical thinking skills and to understand students' related questions about the experimental process.The main conclusions of the study are as follows:First,the critical thinking ability of high school students is generally expressed as a weak positive tendency.Among them,the dimension of “interest in knowledge” is the highest,and the score of “self-confidence in critical thinking” is the lowest.Second,peer assessment strategies can influence the development of critical thinking ability of senior high school students to a certain extent,and it is significantly improved in the“open minded” dimension of critical thinking ability.Third,in peer assessment process,students can basically evaluate objectively and can accept peer advice.Fourth,implementing peer assessment can improve students' writing skills.Fifth,in the peer assessment process,students prefer peer assessment compared to teacher assessment.
