Study On The Correlates Of The National Teacher Qualification Examination For Undergraduates Majoring In Physical Education

Purpose:Since 2011,the whole country has carried out the reform of the teacher qualification examination(hereinafter referred to as the teaching capital examination or TQE),which has made new requirements and norms for the teacher access system,that is,normal college students no longer directly identify the teacher qualification.But unified into the scope of the national unified examination.In the pilot project over the past few years,the passing rate of the teaching-funded examination has dropped sharply,which makes the students majoring in normal education who originally dominated face an unprecedented impact and predicament,and this kind of impact is inevitable among the normal students of physical education.The employment situation of normal students in physical education is more serious.In this context,the purpose of this study is to understand the current situation of the passing of the undergraduate teaching capital examination of physical education majors in physical education colleges and universities,and to explore the related factors that affect the teaching capital examination of undergraduates majoring in physical education.This paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to improve the passing rate of the teaching capital examination.Methods: In this study,466 undergraduates(399 boys and 67 girls)majoring in physical education in Shanghai University of Sport of physical Education were selected as the main subjects,and the results of the examination were analyzed.From the individual factors(individuals),learning factors(schools),teaching examination system factors(system)three aspects to explore the impact of the results of the teaching examination related factors.The data of students' basic situation,academic achievements and teaching capital examination results were collected from the academic Affairs Office,the department office and the Educational examination Network.A questionnaire survey was conducted among 466 students.Qualitative interviews were conducted with five teachers.The text analysis of the real problems and the training program of the school over the years.Finally,the relevant data are inputted and sorted out through Excel,and imported into SPSS 22.0 for statistical analysis.the specific analysis is as follows: descriptive statistical analysis is used to analyze the basic situation of the subjects;Spelman correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between learning factors(academic achievements)and the passing of TQE,and the cross-table analysis and chi-square test were used to analyze the relationship between individual factors and institutional factors and the passing of TQE.Binary logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the significant factors affecting the success of TQE.The results are as follows:(1)169 undergraduates(n ? 466)of physical education major in Shanghai University of Sport have passed the teaching capital examination(including written examination + interview),and the passing rate is 36.3%.The pass rate was the highest in grade 2014(49.6 per cent),followed by grade 2013(35.5 per cent).The average pass rate of girls(61.2%)was much higher than that of boys(32.1%).The results of all subjects of the students who have passed the TQE are better than those of the students who have not passed the TQE.(2)from the point of view ofthe individual factors that affect the passing of the TQE,there is a correlation between the students' gender(Odd Ratio(OR)= 3.3)and the special item(OR = 2.8)and the passing of the TQE(p < 0.05).(3)from the point of view of the learning factors that affect the passing of the TQE,the ranking(OR = 55.2),the score point sum(OR = 2.3)in the comprehensive achievement are related to the passing of the TQE(p < 0.05);The scores of general education curriculum module(OR = 8.2)and professional curriculum module(OR = 6.9)were correlated with the passing of teaching capital examination(p < 0.05).Rhythmic gymnastics,taekwondo and other courses have no correlation with the passing of the teaching capital examination(p > 0.05).(4)from the point of view of the institutional factors that affect the passing of the TQE,there is no correlation between the TQE system and the passing of the TQE(p > 0.05).(5)based on the analysis of the real questions of the teaching capital examination and the training scheme of the physical education specialty,it is found that the teaching capital examination has the following characteristics:the type of the question is stable,the theory is combined with the practice,there is no designated teaching material or reference book,the subject matter of the examination is pluralistic,and the angle is changeable.Comprehensive knowledge points cover a wide range of and so on.In the curriculum of physical education specialty,the credit of professional course is the highest(41.9% of the total credit),and the proportion of teacher education course credit is low(5.9% of the total credit).General education courses focus on ideological and political education and general skills,the proportion of comprehensive practical courses is low,internship time is arranged in the first semester of senior year.The conclusions are as follows:(1)the passing rate of physical education major of Shanghai University of Sport from 2012 to 2014 is generally low;The passing rate of each grade in 2012 and 2014 has been improved,which can reflect the increase of attention paid by schools and students to the teaching capital examination to a certain extent,and the academic achievement and the passing rate of the teaching capital examination of the female students are better than those of the male students,and the passing rate of the female students is higher than that of the male students.Students with better academic performance are more likely to pass the teaching-funded examination.(2)there is a correlation between the students' gender and special subject and the passing of the teaching capital examination.(3)there is a correlation between the comprehensive score and the passing of the TQE,and there is a correlation between the scores of the general education curriculum module and the professional curriculum module and the passing of the TQE.There is no correlation between the results of rhythmic gymnastics,taekwondo and other courses and the passing of the teaching capital examination.(4)there is no correlation between the TQE examination system and the TQE pass.(5)the content of the teaching capital examination has the characteristics of stable question type,pluralistic subject matter,clear requirements,comprehensive ability is the key,pays attention to the application,emphasizes the practice,the comprehensiveness is strong,the difficulty increases and so on.It is reasonable to set up the training scheme of physical education specialty as a whole.However,there are also some shortcomings,such as the teacher education curriculum is too few,the status proportion is low,the curriculum content is notcomprehensive,the professional skill curriculum is more,the proportion is slightly higher,the general education curriculum(curriculum type and subject)is not comprehensive enough,and the general education curriculum(curriculum type and subject)is not comprehensive enough.There are not many kinds of comprehensive teaching practice courses,and the teaching practice time is arranged late and so on.The recommendations of the study are as follows:In the school aspect,Schools should continue to pay more attention to the TQE;And the school should strengthen the guidance of students' special choice,focus on the students with weak academic performance,encourage boys to actively deal with the teaching capital examination,and so on.In addition,Schools need to improve the curriculum of physical education specialty,optimize the content of the curriculum;pay attention to the teaching role of the classroom;attach importance to the comprehensive practical teaching curriculum.On the personal side,Students should take the initiative to strengthen cognition,enhance teachers' professional identity,cultivate comprehensive ability and so on.
