The concept of space is one of the ten core concepts put forward by the Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standard(2011 edition).Six core qualities are mentioned in the Standard of Mathematics Curriculum for General Senior High School(2017 edition).The "intuitive imagination" is the combination of geometric intuition and spatial imagination,and the concept of space is the basis for the development of spatial imagination.The study of solid geometry in senior high school requires students to have good spatial concept.As an important transitional period,junior high school students need to prepare for senior high school learning.This study takes ninth grade students as the research object,uses SOLO classification evaluation theory,and systematically investigates the status quo and existing problems of middle school students' spatial concept.In this study,the concept of space is summarized into four aspects: view and expansion,orientation and projection,graphic motion change,drawing and reasoning.First of all,through the predictive test,we can get a general understanding of the students' level,and then formulate the "Ninth Grade Students' Spatial Concept Test Paper" to formally test the students.402 papers were issued in the formal test and374 valid papers were retrieved for problem analysis.Based on the analysis of the test paper,it is found that: firstly,the spatial concept level of most ninth-grade students has met the requirements of the Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standard(2011 edition).Most of the students can grasp the basic knowledge,but the ability of solving problems and practical application is still weak;secondly,the spatial concept of ninth-grade students has basically formed,and most of their classmates.Thirdly,when solving problems,students fail to integrate mathematical thinking and spatial concept knowledge organically,and fail to establish internal logical connection.Fourthly,this study combines SOLO classification and evaluation theory to analyze students' spatial concept,and finds that students can basically reach the level of multiple structure(M)in all aspects of spatial concept.And the level of association(R),some better aspects can reach the level of further abstraction(E);Fifth,involving views and unfolding,drawing and reasoning,students' imagination,hands-on operation ability and logical reasoning ability need to be strengthened.In view of the weakness of students' space concept and the analysis of space concept examination questions,the author puts forward the following suggestions for the cultivation of space concept: teachers should carry out practical teaching to guide students to observescientifically;students should be trained to draw regularly,emphasizing manual operation;using mathematical mapping software to realize the change process of space graphic movement;strengthening ability training to consolidate space concept ? Finally,combined with the training suggestions put forward by the author,a case study is conducted to compare the changes of the spatial concept level of the case before and after the training.
