At present,"reading the whole book" is receiving more and more attention from Chinese educators,and it is also a clear requirement of the newly revised high school Chinese curriculum standards.In the high school education,consciously guide students to read the whole book,especially reading a large number of novels,to develop students’ ideological horizons,enrich the students’ spiritual world,form a healthy and uplifting attitude towards life,and highly enhance their aesthetic appreciation.And language literacy is undoubtedly of great significance.However,through the investigation of several middle schools in Tianshui City,the reading status of the whole novel is not optimistic.The students generally do not pay attention to the reading of extracurricular novels.The readings are cluttered,the reading quality and reading quality are not high,and good reading habits are not formed.There are problems such as lack of systematic guidance in the classroom.In response to these problems,this article from the novel "reading the whole book" goal setting,teaching guidelines and effect detection,combined with the stylistic features of the novel,proposed a good selection of bibliography,rational planning,gradual progress,from shallow to deep,fine Combine,highlight key points,and thus,and expand the field of vision and other teaching guidance suggestions,in order to provide reference for improving the reading of the entire book.
