The sports tourism industry has a wide range of industry coverage.Although there is no clear independent clearing model for this part of the output value,according to the World Tourism Organization(UNWTO)data,the sports tourism industry is growing at an annual rate of 14%,exceeding the tourism industry by 4-5%increase.The economic benefits are becoming more and more significant.With the rising level of consumer demand,the concept of tourism has changed from traditional sightseeing to leisure experience,and personalized and personalized tourism products such as watching or participating in sports events have begun to be favored.Developed countries such as Europe and the United States have regarded ornamental sports events and experience sports as a fashion and developed mature tourism product forms.Holding sports events is an effective port to attract passenger traffic and create social and economic effects.The comprehensive benefits of large-scale sports events have become more and more significant for the host city,such as the use of events to stimulate tourism consumption,improve the image of the city,and promote urban infrastructure and social and cultural development.The marathon has unique characteristics such as concentrated display,extensive participation,and social and cultural integration.Compared with other large-scale sports events,marathon events have a large number of cities,a wide distribution,and high exposure.They can produce obvious comprehensive effects on the venues and meet the interests of the host cities.‘Marathon Madness' has become a social phenomenon and has become a typical case for studying sports events.As the marathon market expands,it becomes increasingly necessary to understand the characteristics of market segments.The research object of this study is the participants of the marathon in China.According to the classification of the main types of marathon events in China,this study will randomly select samples from traditional marathon,forest marathon and cross-country marathon for sample survey.The sample data consisted of 207 marathon participants from three marathon events sampled nationwide in 2016-2017.In terms of data analysis,SPSS19.0 and AMOS17.0 are mainly used to analyze sample data,including descriptive statistical analysis of structural factor analysis,cluster analysis,one-way ANOVA.The research conclusions include:Frist the tourism attraction perceived by Chinese marathon participants includes three dimensions: the characteristics of the host city,the characteristics of the event and the motivation of the consumer.Second,the characteristics of different marathon participants have a partial impact on the attraction of marathon events.Marathon participants' gender,income,the first entry,and marathon type have a significant impact on the tourism attraction.Among them,whether the first competition and marathon type have an impact on the characteristics of the event.Whether the first entry,gender and income have an impact on consumer perception.Consumer characteristics have no significant impact on the perception of the host.Third,Chinese marathon participants can be divided into three types: leisure,contestants and pursuit types.The leisure type are highly aware of the attraction of sports tourism,travel shorter,and lower times of entries.Marathon routes,projects,promotional features,competitors and other rules s are an important factor in attracting this group to participate in the event.It is suitable for small and medium-sized marathon events with strong leisure and entertainment atmosphere.They prefer low entry threshold,and close distance to the marathon.The contestants type's perceptions of sports tourism are low,the number of males are high,travel distance is longer,and the times of entries is high.It is suitable for a city marathon with a humane atmosphere,and it is easier to turn to longer distance marathon.The pursuit type accounted for the highest proportion,with the basic characteristics of high education and youthfulness.It is motivated by the realization of personal value and runner identity.It mainly chooses events according to internal needs and has greater consumption potential.
