As the core component of sports tourism, sports event tourism has both the dual nature of tourism and sports, which can bring immeasurable social and economic benefits and window effect to urban development.Marathon event tourism is a specific type of event tourism, and it is also the hot spot of current event tourism. Not only the event is competitive, but also the public can be widely involved in it,causing a strong tourism effect.Residents are one of the important social entities that the development of marathon tourism relies on,and they are also the target and actual perceiverers of the influence of marathon tourism. The difference of residents’ perception of the influence of marathon tourism will ultimately affect the healthy and sustainable development of marathon tourism. However,in the actual development process of marathon tourism, the important position of residents as the core interests has not been highlighted,so it is particularly important to study the residents’ perception of the impact of marathon tourism. This study takes the residents of Dujiangyan, the host city of Chengdu Double Heritage Marathon,as the investigation object, and conducts an in-depth study on the residents’ perception of the tourism impact of Chengdu double Heritage Marathon and its internal relationship.Firstly, the existing literature is reviewed by literature research method.Guided by stakeholder, place attachment and expectation theory, the independent variable "place attachment",the intermediate variable "development expectation" and the dependent variable "perceived cost" and "perceived benefit" are extracted. The conceptual model is theoretically constructed and the research hypothesis is proposed. This paper focuses on exploring the internal influence mechanism of Dujiangyan residents’ local attachment and development expectation on Dujiangyan residents’ perception of the tourism impact of Chengdu Double Heritage Marathon. Then, the sample data were collected by questionnaire survey. The reliability, validity, exploratory factors and descriptive statistics of the questionnaire were tested by SPSS data analysis software.A theoretical model was established by AMOS software, and the model was modified for fitness and hypothesis testing. The research shows that the overall perception of Dujiangyan residents is good, and the perceived benefit is much higher than the perceived cost.Among the perceived benefit, the strongest aspect is social culture, and the weakest aspect is environment.Among the perceived costs, the strongest is the economic aspect and the weakest is the environmental aspect.Among the two factors affecting residents’ perception of development expectation and place attachment,Dujiangyan residents’ development expectation is higher than place attachment. The internal mechanism of place attachment is as follows: place attachment has a significant positive effect on development expectation,a significant positive effect on perceived benefit, and a significant negative effect on perceived cost;Development expectation positively affects perceived benefit and perceived cost;Developmental expectations play a complete mediating role in the relationship between place attachment and perceived benefits and a partial mediating role in the relationship between place attachment and perceived costs. In view of the above research results, the following suggestions are put forward to better promote the sustainable development of Chengdu double Heritage Marathon tourism from the perspective of local residents.(1)Attach importance to the "master" status of residents and cultivate their sense of responsibility;(2)Mobilize residents to participate widely and cultivate good local attachment complex;(3)Build a benefit sharing platform to allow residents to share the income from the event tourism;(4)Formulate relevant policies and measures in advance to minimize the negative impact.
