As one of the largest joints in the human body, the shoulder joint plays an extremely important role in daily life.Elderly female population suffer from loss of joint muscle control and reduced muscle strength around the joints due to injury or lack of exercise, which in turn leads to motor dysfunction which further leads to the limited range of motion of the joint.Currently, there are a variety of methods for treating shoulder pain and limited range of motion of the shoulder.A large amount of manpower, material and financial resources are required in the implementation of these methods.Functional training for treating shoulder pain and limited range of motion of the shoulder originates from medical rehabilitation and has a long history. With the wide application of functional training,it has gradually spread to the process of mass fitness and exercise. It is particularly important to provide simple,easy-to-operate and low-cost training methods and means for elderly people with limited shoulder joint activities through functional training.OBJECTIVE: To verify through experiments, whether the resistance band training and the trigger point self-release exercise can effectively improve the limited range of motion of the shoulder joints in the female elderly population, and provide a reference for the improvement of joint function of the relevant population. At the same time, from the perspective of systematic theory, the functional training method with limited shoulder mobility is explored, which provides theoretical guidance for popularizing healthy lifestyles and scientific training methods for the elderly. Methods: Through the interview method, mathematical statistics method, literature and experimental method, the experimental subjects were studied, for 8 weeks, three groups' interventional experiment design were carried out respectively. The shoulder joint flexion, extension and abduction was evaluated by the goniometer and while functional Movement Screen(FMS)Shoulder mobility test was measured using a regular measuring tape. The data obtained through the experimental intervention were statistically analyzed.the results were used to compare the effects of stretching training, elastic band exercises and self-release of myofascial trigger points on the shoulder mobility of elderly women effect.RESULTS: After the experimental intervention, the stretching exercises(conrol group/stretching group),the combination of the resistance band and the stretching exercise(experimental group A/resistance band group),the resistance band, myofascial trigger point self-release method followed by stretching exercise,(experimental group B/ trigger point group)there are different degrees of improvement in the shoulder joint flexion, abduction, extension and FMS Shoulder mobility test.however, there was no significant difference in the measurements of shoulder extension between the Experimental group A and the Experimental group B.Experimental group B;The trigger point group was the most effective in the experiment of improving the mobility of the shoulder joint, followed by experimental group A;the resistance band group, and the control group;the stretching group had the smallest increase compared with the other two groups. Conclusion: 1.Stretching is one of the most common and basic practice methods. It can effectively improve the mobility of the shoulder joint by changing the flexibility of the shoulder joint.Enhancing joint flexibility is one of the bases for improving the mobility of the shoulder joint.2.Through the combination of resistance band and stretching,we can see that strength training is crucial for improving the mobility of the shoulder joint.Because the resistance band can stimulate the muscles,it further helps the elderly to improve the shoulder joint mobility.3,The combination of resistance band, trigger point self-release method followed by stretching exercises is the best training method, the group focuses on the key components of musculoskeletal trauma;flexibility, restoring muscle strength, endurance and enhancing proprioceptive control. The resistance band, stretching exercises and myofascial trigger point selfrelease method is based on theories of functional training, therefore,it can be seen that functional training can improve shoulder mobility better than regular strength exercises and stretching exercises.4.The combination of resistance band, trigger point self-release method followed by stretching exercises follows the key components of functional training, therefore it can be stated that functional training can improve the shoulder mobility of the elderly women better than normal strength training and stretching.
