With the change of knowledge form,college teaching management mode,students' learning mode and college students in the new era,the change of college learning space has become an inevitable trend.In college campus,the learning activities of college students are increasingly in the form of informal learning,and informal learning space has become an important position for college students to learn,especially the main place for their independent learning.With the change of college students' learning behavior,college learning space needs to be changed accordingly.How do college students use informal learning Spaces? Can the type,quantity,function and management mode of the existing informal learning space meet the needs of students? What is the status quo and possible development trend of informal learning space construction in universities? These problems have become the hot issues in the world higher education research.In the context of a large number of new campuses being built in Chinese universities,there still exists the problem that the old campus learning space needs to be updated.This study investigates and analyzes the current situation of informal learning space in the old campus of a local public university,which was built in the 1950 s.Local public universities are common in Chinese universities.The survey on the status of informal learning space in the old campus of S university can reflect the general situation of the construction of learning space in Chinese public universities to some extent.Guided by the constructivist learning theory,this study explored the interactive mode of "human—learning space—learning behavior" through qualitative research methods such as interview and observation,so as to reveal how to better meet the needs of college students' independent learning and promote the occurrence of students' creative learning behavior.The thesis is mainly in divided into four parts:Part ?: introduction.The part is mainly in introducing the background,the significance,the purpose and the methods of the research,the theoretical basis and the existing research etc..Part ? : "inventory" of the overall situation of S university's informal learning,including spatial distribution,type and quantity.It is found that the informal learning space of S university is generally distributed in other Spaces other than the traditional learning space by the writer's observation.These informal learning Spaces meet the learning needs of the modern university students to some extent.However,due to the lack of attention from the university school,these informal learning Spaces have many deficiencies.Part ?: survey on the usage of the informal learning space in S university.Through observation and interview,it is found that the usage of informal learning space by students in S university mainly have the characteristics of single using mode and "makeshift" and "compromise" in the using process.Informal learning space has influences students' on psychology and learning behavior from three aspects: space management,physical environment and cultural atmosphere.Space has become an intermediary for students to construct learning habits and knowledge systems.However,when students use the existing informal learning space,they need to meet their learning needs passively by "adjust" and "adapt".Part ? : the deficiency of the informal learning space and countermeasures in universities.The old campus of the university has its own historical and cultural deposits and advantages,but because of the early construction of the old campus,its informal learning space also shows some deficiencies,mainly in the aspects of space management,physical environment and cultural atmosphere.The informal learning space in the old campus of the university still has great potential for development.So the study also puts forward to the following development suggestions: strengthen the consultation among different departments,and make full usage of the existing space resources;Carry on with the space demand investigation to the students,carry on with the humanization construction;Create a good learning atmosphere,create an infectious informal learning space.
