Research On The Current Situation And Development Of Undergraduate Journalism Education In China In The Age Of Media Convergence

With the development of the Internet and digital technology,great changes have taken place in the news media industry,with traditional media merging with new media such as the Internet one after another.This change puts forward new requirements for news talents,and colleges and universities,as the training of news professionals,also face new challenges.Based on an in-depth understanding of media convergence,this paper analyzes the needs of media in the new era and the views of undergraduate journalism graduates on school learning through literature research,word frequency analysis and questionnaire survey,and compares the similarities and differences and characteristics of undergraduate journalism education in China.By investigating the media,students and schools,this paper summarizes the current situation and defects of undergraduate journalism education in China.In view of the current situation of undergraduate journalism education in China,there are problems in training objectives,specialty setting,faculty allocation and teaching methods.As a result,undergraduate journalism education is still unable to fully adapt to the needs of media convergence and development,and it is often difficult for students to find jobs after graduation and for media enterprises to recruit students.In view of the above problems,this paper explores the development strategies and trends of undergraduate journalism education in China.It includes some Suggestions on the reform of excellent journalism education in foreign countries,the updating of training objectives and the innovation of curriculum.In addition,in the face of the current trend of the integration of the latest digital technologies such as artificial intelligence(AI)and virtual reality technology(VR)into the field of education,this paper also provides some ideas on the integration of new technologies and the promotion of the development of journalism education.It is hoped that these strategies can promote the development of journalism education and cultivate interdisciplinary journalism talents to meet the development needs of media convergence.
