Social Work Involved In The Care Of Urban Disabled Elderly

With the development of human society,the aging of the population has become a common challenge faced by all countries in the world.The number of disabled elderly has also been increasing.The number of elderly people who are disabled in our country is huge,and as the life expectancy of human beings continues to increase,The proportion of the disabled elderly will also continue to increase.For a long time,China's traditional old-age care methods mainly rely on "family care for the elderly," and the"social care" and "institutional care for the elderly" are not yet mature.The old-age care function of urban families is continuously weakening,and traditional old-age care methods are changing.With the advent of the "only son and the elderly" era,the care of urban disabled seniors is bound to face severe pressure.This paper attempts to use the theory and methods of social work in the care of urban disabled elderly people,and uses Maslow's hierarchy of needs and social ecosystem theory as a support.First,conduct an in-depth investigation of 25 typical disabled urban elderly as research cases,and conduct in-depth interviews with the research subjects and their families to analyze the needs and predicaments of urban disabled elderly care.The analysis finds that the disabled elderly caregiving dilemma has limited income sources,excessive economic pressure,lack of spiritual life,lack of emotional comfort and low quality of life,lack of professional care,insufficient human resources,weakened social support,and limited effective support;The pressure of care,family tensions and other issues.Secondly,a case-work approach involves a seriously disabled senior citizen and his family.A service plan is developed to reduce the physical and psychological burden of disabled seniors and the caregiving burden of the primary caregiver,to ease family relationships,and to help disabled seniors and their families find The right care mode.Finally,this paper proposes suggestions for solving the dilemma of care for urban disabled elderly from the family,community and institutional level.
